997 GT2 review in current Evo

Interesting comparisons to the CGT, looking forward to the test-drive report. Apologies for the low def, bit difficult to read, had to massively reduce the files for photobucket...

Limited run of 30 cars to the UK would back up comments elsewhere re not flooding the market for a change

Thank god they decided to equip it with PSM.

The question I have is why buy the GT2 for over $200,000 when you can get a base 997TT for around $130,000 and spend another $11-15000 for RUF modifications which would increase the hp to 550? With AWD most drivers would do faster times around the track in a RUF TT than in a GT2 despite the favorable weight difference the GT2 has.

Cos of exactly that, you get to play everyday with all that power driving only 2 wheels. And launch control is going to be good for **** and giggles

Are those airbags on the side of the racing bucket seats? Wonder if the US version will come w/ those CGT style seats! If so, sucks that Porsche didn't do the same for RS and GT3 owners.

Those seats were designed with the US market in mind. They will be standard for the US cars. I agree it is too bad they weren't standard on the GT3 or RS. I think they would have been, but the seats were likely not yet approved for market in that time frame.

For more readable/larger files, try uploading to http://www.flickr.com/
It accepts the larger files. Trying to read that makes my head hurt- I'm a Photobucket customer too- wish they had larger file capability.
