They are tough on clutches and the ones I've driven aren't that smooth as well as having more service issues. I'd rather have a G than a tt just for style but if it's a dd go tt.
how is the F1 in your F430, deciding between an egear G or a F1 F430, forget about style, etc, just the gearbox, any thoughts are appreciated

I have been an anti semi-automatic guy. SMG, EGear, F1 in 355/360. The damn things were always lurching around town and in general screwing up a good ride. All of them were incredible on the track though.

The FI in the 430 is brilliant. As engaging as you want it to be. Leave it in auto or paddle it. I think it's a combo of refinement and an engine having enough torque to make it work. The car and the tranny work great together.

On a side note, I'm a huge tt fan and I can't wait to see the DSG they come up with. It's hard to describe until you've lived with the paddles but the SW is going to have to be really smart to deal with the lag.

great stuff, thanks, making it hard for me, becasue i like the style, ride of the G more than the 430. also having a hard time finding anything other than red/tan in 430's.

You can't go wrong with either. You've had a G and there are plenty of color combos on the 430's out there. Except for black, the usually sell for a tad less too.

Make sure you drive the 430 though. They still don't have the power off the bottom that a G or tt does. The trade off is that 430's are about 300 lbs lighter and it drives like it's even lighter than that.
