when you buy a car, doesn't the dealer want to pay reg fees and send paperwork to your dmv? are you essentially driving it for 91 days in another state without a license or registration?

I thought that a few years ago they changed the out of state holding time from 90 days to one year? The CA DMV web site seems to indicate 1 year is required:

Edit: Ooops. I should have clicked through to the BOE link. I did not realize they "un-did" the 1 year waiting period effective Jul 1, 2007. Wow!

Yep changed it back to 90 days!
