Going to end the Ca sales tax loophole

Well they will be ending the 90 day loophole soon.

Just registered my G Spider last week. Worked for me just like I posted on
this board few months ago. Hope some of you took advantage of
this info. Buy it out of state,,use it out of state..bring it in after 90
days no sales or use tax due.

I saved $16,000.

DMV does not get involved when you present exemption certificate from BOE.

BOE was VERY through. required purchase receipt.Proof I used it out of state
and delivering truck receipt. In addition Heffner provided notorized\
statement that he had physical possesion for the time he had car.

So I did nothing illegal just took advantage of existing law.

+1

I don't think they can just decide they want to do it and make it live just like that. They have to vote and then it has to go thru some kind of process etc.... So it may just be until next year before they can make it live????

Does it matter if the car is leased, purchased with financing or does this 90 day loop hole only apply if the car is bought with cash?

I doubt it will work on a lease. With a lease, you pay sales tox only on the amount you put down, and you pay sales tax on each of your payments, so it will be too difficult to do with a lease.

Any updates? I'm thinking of purchasing a car out of state? Is the loophole still in effect? Thanks!
