Negotiating a price on a new lamborghini

Hi All,

I've decided to purchase a new 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 coup. The only issue is that I'm having a hard time finding the invoice price of the car. Most sites seem to only list the MSRP and not the invoice. Is the price even negotiable? I know that Ferrari's come at a premium, so I guess you can't get below MSRP, but the Lamborghini dealers that I've visited seemed to be willing to work on the price a little. Does anyone know how low I can go? And also, what can I negotiate on -- are service contracts or options I can ask for them to throw in? Thanks.

lamborghinis definitely do NOT require the premium that most new ferraris do, BUT the price depends a lot on what options you get. F1 shifting easily adds 10k to the price as does the ceramic brake package.

What are the specs on the car?

BTW the lp640 is a great car congrats!

4550 to upgrade the tires?
what a joke

Seems to me if you can afford this car, you should have enough business accumen to negotiate a deal that is fair to you.

customizing the car

i'm new to buying cars this expensive. when buying most cars it seemed like i had more power because there were so many dealerships/cars available. if i didn't get exactly what i wanted, i could go to another that had what i wanted. buying an lp640 seems like the total opposite (i thought for this price i should be able to get exactly what i want). i've called almost every lamborghini dealership in the us and many of them only had like 2 or 3 available. it was tough enough to find the exterior/interior color combinations i wanted, that getting all the options i desired on top of that seems nearly impossible (given that i need to buy it in the next 2 weeks). can i negotiate for them to swap out tires to cheaper ones that weren't on the msrp? i figure i'm gonna buy some rims anyway, so there's no need to buy some sport tires that probably wont fit.

Your nickel and diming a 400k car. If you want to pay less choose less options that already seem to be priced at exorbitant levels. Awesome car though.

Bottom line is you don't like the price, turn and walk away ... if you get a call then great .. if not YOU can still go back ...Good luck and I hope you get the deal you want.

Its a buyers market out there, so you should have a lot of negotiation room...there are a few 640's used as well for a decent price...

Dont let them sucker you. I walked away from a deal bc they wouldnt discount me on the car. I refuse to pay sticker price on a car especially after I buy a rediculous amount of vehicles from places. They have a 50k margin in that damn LP they could easily give you 10k off.

I'd think you have a lot of room for negotiations from a 400k car

Maybe try Lambopower.com or a more specific Lambo forum. I know Danny Baker over there on Lambopower, from Lambo Chicago?, is always making deals. Just my .02...
