I agree with you, just throwing it out there to hear some opinions. I have never driven one, and that of course would answer a lot of questions. Maybe some insight regarding long term ownership from someone who has experienced both cars would be nice.

ABSOLUTELY!! Trust me..You won't look back.

 

One thing you will notice right away, even though they are both awd cars the Gallardo feels much more like a rwd car. The 996tt's (I had 2 of them turned both into rwd) awd system is different than the 997's

 

Go for it, you wont look back....and Porsche actually does own Lamborghini! Make sure the car you are looking at has no stories

 

I would say if your going to drive the hell out of the car your 996 will cost less to keep running. If you want to turn heads the G is the way to go. Dont get me wrong the Lambo can be a DD but it will cost you more in the long run.

Correct, but Porsche owns VW so technically they do, but it could be seen either way. Go for the Gallardo!

This thread's getting interesting.

I DD my turbo S, it's my only car. I only drive around 6500 miles a year, work is close to home. I only have a one car garage, so I can't keep both at this point. Im considering getting a second "beater" car for bad weather, the odd long drive to LA, or when I need to lug 4 people around comfortably.

Im assuming the warranty for an 05 or 06 gallardo would be up or shortly up. Do a lot of you guys troll around without warranties?
