E-gear or 6 speed?

Looking at an 04/05 Gallardo and leaning toward a 6 speed. I haven't driven one yet and one sales guy I talked to insisted the e-gear was more thrilling than 6 speed. Any thoughts or experiences with the Lambo e-gear?

Drive it yourself. It's all personal choice and no matter what people say, it's totally up to your preference. I was thinking today I'd have liked egear more if 1. the paddles on both sides had an up/down option, or there was a center console stick to flick back and forth. I like driving with one hand which you can't do in egear.

Thanks. Has anyone heard whether there is any significant difference in the "life" of the clutch between e-gear or 6 speed?

04/05 egears gallardos are completely fine are the egear software upgrade. also when you do replace the clutch rev i think its is F will grately improve the clutch life.

I was hesitant to go with egear at first but now that I'm used to it, I wish all my cars had it.

no, dealers just don't keep 6-speeds in stock. you can still order a 6-speed.

With my '06 E-gear, I put over 20K miles on the clutch prior to selling the car. According to the PPI, there was still another 40% of clutch wear remaining.

I also drove an '04 6 speed and it was very fun. I prefer the 6 speed on the streets and the E-gear on the track.

I understand the clutch pack to be superior in the 06+ E-gears and people swapping for an 06+ clutch upon replacement of on 04-05 e-gear clutch.

For a hard driven street application what would last longer in an 04-05 G with the original clutch?

Thanks in advance

I prefer 6 speed for the streets, it gives the feeling of involvement with the car

It's all personal preference so drive both & see what suits you better.
