What To Buy:Gallardo vs 360 Modena?

I am thinking about ordering a '05 E-gear Gallardo for Jan delivery,or an 'off the floor today' 360 Modena F1.I will be trading my Murci 6 spd in 'cause it just is no longer a buzz to drive around town in,just a chore Plus if i go for a paddle car my wife can drive me home from social functions when i have had too many brewskies Oh,if i go for the F car i should be able to trade it back in towards the end of next year on a 430 with a pre-arranged change over figure which takes the uncertainty out of the next transaction. If i go for the G car and later trade it on a 430 i'll probably get creamed on the trade in figure at the Ferrari dealership! At the moment Ferrari are keen to do a deal 'cause they only have 2 Modena's left to sell before the 430 starts arriving 2nd or 3rd quarter next year.Which would you choose, and why?

Personally speaking I never really got on with the 360. I had the F1 paddle shift and really wished id gone for the manual. Its not quick enough at shifting, when compared with the newer boxes out there, such as the M3 CSL. I also found reverse slipped the clutch far to much for my liking. Also you might want to keep an eye out for corrosion, especially around wheel arches, i kid you not. After 8 months id had enough and moved on.

If your looking to get out of the new car into a 430 early next year then it might make sense, but otherwise id go with the Gallardo.

why not an E-Gear Murci?

between the Gallardo & 360 only, I'd personally choose the 360 reluctantly simply because Gallardo image can't be overcome imho

Gallardo advantages: performance, AUDI influence on build quality
disadvantages: image (Murci's little brother), looks

360 advantages: stands by itself, great looks
disadvantages: performance, incoming 430, suspect build quality

I think the Gallardo stands on its own in terms of performance against the Murci. Not a lot in it really and in terms of track use the Gallardo has the better brakes and handling IMHO. Thats certainly the case from what ive seen of them at track days anyway. Then again im a little biased

Mansour,i'm asking on a Lambo forum 'cause i own one.er,i mean i did untill yesterday....i now have my first Ferrari!YAY!The deal on the 360 was so far ahead of the G car deal it was in a different universe!!!!i know you will be thinking "360's on run out so of course the deal will be better silly!",but after a hefty discount i still traded the Murci for much more than the Lambo guys were prepared to pay.I really had to question the faith in the resale of Lambo's when their own dealership is so far off the pace.I think the Ferrari resale will be o.k 'cause at least there is a history of people going 348 to 355 to 360.With my new experience this week,i doubt that many Lambo owners will be able to afford updating too frequently, indeed if at all!Roll on the 430,but till then.............

2004 Ferrari 360 Modena,(F1 of course)
Rosso Corsa with tan interior
19"Hamann alloys ( )
carbon-fiber airboxes
Tubi exhaust
C.D stacker
charge kit
challenge rear grille
red callipers

Plus as a bonus this car is the very last 360 coupe sold in New Zealand,so i guess it's kinda special

I think the chances are they discounted the car via the trade in rather than completely off the sticker price, which is why you got a better deal from Ferrari and not Lambo. The need to sell the 360's fast as they don't want to be left holding stock come the new year. I lost 28% on my 360 last year when i got out of the car. So don't expect a great deal when you look to move up into the 430. I really cant believe you felt the Merci was inferior to a 360, they are on different planets.

It was a 2002 (18 months old) and had 7000 on the clock. The going rate for a car that age is almost at 355 levels in the UK these days.

hmm, lets think...a car i use every 3rd weekend or so that is a pain in the *** to drive around the cbd in or a paddle 360 that i can use every day without people gawking, whistling, shouting, videoing, phone camera pxting or hasseling me in?a no brainer i believe!
As far as the 'deal' goes the figures were real discount off sticker price against a'real' trade in figure of the Murci. How do i know this?Easy...i'm a car dealer !!

Well i hope you skydive in your free time, the value you of your 360 is going to fall so fast you'll need a parachute. As a dealer im sure you already knew that of course.
