Gallardo pre-2007 vs 2007 and newer

A client and friend had a 2005 Gallardo and his major and only complaint was the E-gear system, which prompted him to sell the car and buy a newer F430.

My question is, on a 2007 let's say Gallardo, were there in fact "significant" improvements made to the gearbox that would make this car more fun and enjoyable to drive maybe in comparison to the Ferrari 430 with the F1 gearbox, or not really ?!?

The '06 E-gear was an upgrade over the '04 E-gear. However, both are still relatively "clunky" relative to the F-1 transmission of a Ferrari. If you move up to an LP-560, the transmission is very smooth and similar to F-1.

The first upgrade to e-gear was in 06, and then again with the Superleggeras. The new LP-560 e-gear is an entirely different animal.

I would say Ferrari's F1 is better than 04 - 09 e-gear, but LP-560 e-gear is now better than F1, excluding the new 7 speed DSG on the California.

So LP-560 in a Gallardo Spyder is an upcoming 2010 car I think, right ??

04's had a weak clutch and no front end lift
05's improved clutch and front end lift
06's improved clutch, egear, exhaust, and more hp
07's no change that I am aware of
08's no change either

I had a '04 six speed manual, the clutch was perfect, later I sold the car with nine thousand miles and the original clutch still felt very strong.

The LP560-4 Spyder is already around, I've seen a black one owned by dealer in SoCal.

06 Egear is better than 04-05, LP560 Egear is way better than 06+ Egear. From a stand still, LP560 takes off like a car should & shifts very well in all of the modes (corsa being the most crisp).

F430 F1 is better the Gallardo Egear, Scuderia F1 is better than both. LP560 Egear is very good but currently can't say that it's better than the Scuderia F1. I know the LP560 is faster around a track than the Scuderia but the honest truth is that I haven't spent enough time behind the Scuderia & LP560 to give a full review with regards to the transmissions but they are both great in their own rights.
