"They are very prone to oil leaks, particularly at the rear main seal."
I just replaced my front main seal which is also common, wasnt to expensive, when I do the clutch ill replace the rear seal as a precaution, its not expensive when you are doing the clutch...

Simon George of Evo has a Murci with something approaching 70,000 mi on the clock and the amazing thing is that a very large number of those miles (guessing up to half?) are on the track.
Here is the article when they retired it for the LP640. He decided to keep it because the depreciation with 44K mi was so eye watering...

At the bottom of this article he discusses that it now has over 70,000

Reading the post about the 04 rental makes me glad I got an 08 :-) As of 08 they have a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty.
I have 9500 or so on mine and it has been largely trouble free. Scheduled services at 7500 miles, they replaced a couple of exhaust sensors with an updated part right after I got it. I have done roadtrips from vegas to denver, denver to tombstone az and back, done about 3 'launch mode' launches and still have over 90% reading on the clutch. The car has been solid.
