52 weeks until I own my first G...(maybe).

Hey Guys,

This is my first post and I wanna thank you guys in advance for welcoming me into the forum. For the past six months or so I have been keeping a car mag page stuck onto my refrigerator that entails both the R8 V10 or G.

Today I made the jump to decide to purchase and leaning towards purchasing the G. "Pre-loved" as they call it. Adviser said that if I saved $1K per week for a year, a purchase would be on the horizon. I know the figure is short, but it doesn't account other liquid.

The purchase is still a year away, but I come to you all for advice. I know that realistically I may only own the car a year then move onto something else. I guess I find excitement in the "chase" to procure something and then the "infatuation" that eventually wears away.

I know most would call it wise to do an outright purchase, but would there be any advantages to financing? I plan on driving the car maybe 600-700 mi/month.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Guys,

Thanks so far for the responses. As crazy as I may be, I plan on "hoarding" and I realize I spoke too soon I said I would "realistically" own the car for maybe a year. In reality, I predict I may get some enjoyment out of driving it, so it likely is a keeper.

With that being said, the other cars in my garage other than my DD have been posters on wall and "doodles" on my term papers since I was about 'yay' high and in school. Though feeble as both cars might be, I considered them long ago as my "dream" cars. So again, they are keepers.

As far as purchasing the G is concerned, I wasn't really looking to unload other cars just to buy another one. That was also a "poster" car in my mind and as every day goes by, the bull that was once a mirage becomes something I could feel. I feel fortunate that I am fairly young and don't have much "overhead" when it comes to living. You could call me crazy because I don't have a big house or live in an area where luxo-roadsters are commonplace. My friends already think I'm "eccentric" because I own three cars at my relatively young age.

I like that adding a G in my near future would add to my eccentricity. What is the feeling like to sit and drive in a Lambo for the first time?

Eccentric is cool...I am eccentric as well, and I am 26 with a great income...just don't get TOO eccentric and get into debt...that won't pay you a dime.
