flip a coin. heads= pcar, tails= M. if it lands on pcar and you feel bummed out, then you want the M and vice versa....thats what i do when trying to figure out what movie to watch and it always works. should apply to cars too right?

Here's your solution, get 06 Gallardo, and an NA Porsche.

I almost forgot to answer the main question; "how good is the gallardo?" its F*CKING GREAT! but are you good enough, as in your bank account? I drive the crap out of mine and love it. Last service was $12k and I didn't give a sh*t.

Ouch, $12K service takes a this car and probably an F360 out of my plan.

I had a 997s and I now have a Gallardo SE. I miss the porsche. It drives and handles better than the Lambo. They are both strictly weekend cars. But the Porsche is much better in the parking lots. The Gallardo is definitely much more bling and has tons more power.

I have a Murci, not a G, but I can tell you that for daily driving, the Porsche is a better choice. It gives you a certain level of respect on the street, but you do not get overwhelming attention. TheLlambo, on the other hand, will drive you crazy with the massive amount of attention.
They are both relatively uncomfortable, and have typical sports car drivability issues like low clearance, harsh ride, etc, but the attention of the Lambo is so off the charts that I would strongly consider that issue before purchasing one.

That is one of those cars I wish I hadn't sold. The only problem we had with ours was the ac cooling fan. It was about 1K to replace and took 6 weeks to get in. Here is a pic of ours with a friend of ours UGR TT Gallardo at our house. The Yellow one is the UGR --

If anything, gallardo has better handling characteristics due to mid-engined layout and you'll be less likely to lose control under unfavorable conditions (rain, dirt, snow, etc).
It's not that the car itself isnt friendly for daily driving, its everyone else out there. The Porsche blends in better...WAY better.

There were quite a few changes in 2006, little more power, gearing changes, lift systems, etc... 2006 coupes are retailing at around $115k, but can be had for the low 100's....

Id say 06-07 they have depreciated enough so that the value is there but no teething problems of the earlier years. You can get a 06-07 for around 140 or so while a early models are around 90ish

They are not the same car, when a Gallardo comes with a rear seat, id do a comparison, perhaps a Ferrari with a rear seat might be a better comparison and as others have said, get both and be done with it! Both are good cars...

Yeah - both is better :-) But seriously the 'seats' in the 911...aren't exactly 'all that' :-)

I was pleasantly suprised by my G car. I actually drive in more than my P car now.

really old thread i started way back when...but was looking at some early model G's recently...

Here's the thing, I get the car is awesome, it looks PHENOMINAL, its visceral experience...but really looking at the interior...its NOT a great place to be aesthetically.

I mean its basically like VW jetta center Console or baseline Audi 4 series. Ya i know your paying for the v10 and the 4wd and the mechanics and the noise and "exotic ness". but for this kind of money...I mean is the porsche a better place to sit?

Its sort of the reverse panerama turbo s syndrome. porsche PTTS is hideous looking from the outside, but great interior to look at and BTTW (***** to the wall) fast and handles like a dream.

The gallardo looks fantastic outside, terible to look at inside, BTTW fast and handles great.
