Murci insurance, all owners please step in.

I called my insurance agent to get a quote. Car is an 04 Murci 6 speed. My Nationwide agent said that they normally don't insure exotics but since I have other cars on the policy that they would ask to make an exception and call me back. Needless to say, they didnt call back lol.

My question is what can I expect to pay for full coverage insurance on the 04 and if you could include age and non detailed driving history so that I could gauge what im looking at spending. For the record, im 28 with no accidents and no tickets. A host of cars on the policy (10+ for the household).

All of your help is appreciated. Thanks gents!

I just went through this for an 08 SL. Called about 6 different folks who insure, and found AAA to be best price. I'd give them a call.

Interesting that you made this thread, because I just went through this with Nationwide. They have a list of brands and individual cars that they will not insure. I was shown the list and the criteria for determining what goes on the list. As simple as it sounds, the criteria was 0-60 in under 5 seconds and top speed in excess of 150. I found this out because they cancelled the insurance on my 997 C2. Trust me, the will not insure the Murci. They wouldn't do mine, and after having seen the list, they won't do yours either.

Suprisingly, my agent called around for me until he found someone to insure the Murci, and that company did full coverage on the Murci for $2100 a year!

Call AAA... I went through this exact same thing this weekend, and found them 500-1000 less than everyone else with greater coverage limits. They also "conveniently" excluded my wife from coverage which makes it easy for me to say... Sorry babe... you can't drive because you're not covered...

I have a diablo, not a murcie but I have USAA and even though they don't list anything exotic on their site, and they had trouble getting the system to take the VIN, they did the Lambo no problems. Rate isn't bad either considering i'm 27.

I was going to go with Grundy at $1850 for an 08 SL.

You guys with the low rates, are you insuring dailys, house, etc?

Wawanesa has great rates but has a an 80K payout limit... won't work for a Murci..

I pay $480 a year for my TT that's full coverage, $500 deduct and 250/500 liability. It's usually a good idea to get an umbrella policy that will cover liability on lots of things, house, cars, etc...

its funny how I'm paying more for an SLK55 than most of you guys with Lambos. Im 18, one failure to stop at a stop sign ticket, paying $2500 a year with state farm. have the houses and 4 other cars with them.

edit: and thats on my parents policy. i cant imagine what it would be on my own.

Hmmm. $500 a year more for an 08. Does that seem reasonable?

My record is totally clean, 33 yrs old.
