I posted the thread to see if anyone had answers to why it performed so badly.

They actually forgot one modification on the TT SL.....................the Driver Mod.

I've been speaking with Kevin about this for awhile...and to be fair (and I know nothing about the owner and/or anything about his driving skills)....but nobody can launch an e-gear with a Tilton clutch. The e-gear will not let you 'slip' a launch - and using the SL 'launch control' will probably result in an expensive trans rebuild. They are working on a different clutch combo that may allow this in the future....but I'll be in the same position....so no laughing when my SL cuts a 2.60 60 ft at Norwalk.

All I heard from my contacts was "we must make car faster!! UGR Lambos will rape us!"...
Didn't happen, so I am curious as to why? Did they blow the trans up trying to get it to launch better?

As I've said before, when it comes to low, consistent ET's, my car of choice would not be a UR TTG, BUT....for roll racing and mph racing, a UR TTG....hands down.

With all due respect...that's all I'm sayin.

Daniel thanks for the great comments, I'm glad we had the ability to win your business. Titan always strives to not only have the best products, quickest availability but also the best customer service. I'm glad many of the things we've done at Titan is working.
Its good to know that there are options in the Gallardo TT market

Not true - you are way off the mark. It was more about service than cost. The cost of Titan's kit was actually quite a bit more than UGR's, but I felt it was worth it.
Sorry for the long answer, but we get this question all the time so might as answer it...
When I moved to Charlotte two years ago I was excited about the fact
that UGR was local. I called UGR and left a message, but never received a call back.
On two occasions I had guests in from the west coast that asked me to setup a visit at UGR. These were very legitimate prospective customers (own exotic cars, Gultstreams, and offshore race boats). I decided to call SW and asked him for a contact name. On two separate occasions I left msgs stating SW had referred me and wanted to set a time to come out along with other prospective customers. No Call back and a bit embarrassing for me.
After visiting UGR with Peter, Eric, and Tim last year during their
builds, I was introduced as a potential customer. A few weeks later I
was in the area and stopped in and nobody was there who handled sales
but said they'd have "him" call me. I didn't get a call until a couple
weeks later.
I've known Nero for years and he's someone I trust and a very nice guy
who is always prompt with communication. While at the TX2K Meet this
year he let me drive the Titan TTG on several occasions and took me out
Friday night for some fun on the hwy (even though we lost every race to
some of the big dogs). He also threw my wife the keys and let her drive
it. Later I asked him if he'd let a friend drive it and he didn't
hesitate in the least.
Once we drove the Titan TTG that weekend, we told Nero he had our order.

Thinking about this again, since you simply hit the gas to go with an e-gear (right?) is the Tilton the wrong setup for that car? I don't think there is anything the driver can do except complain at this point. What about the other UGR car that was supposed to be there? I only ever saw one running?

Not sure on the yellow car. I believe its a six speed.

I could not agree with you more...I'm AMAZED and VERY impressed that UGR built a car that they shipped halfway around the world, the car went 236 mph in the mile on its first outing with no tuning, no tweaks....actually Kevin told me that they tuned it REALLY rich for safety, that was a 245+ mph car on its first outing! Anyone that knows the e-gear/tilton situation that Jamie addressed knows that these are by no means 1/4 mile or launch cars, I would never dream of doing a 5k rpm 2-step hard launch with my car, funk that!

Interesting only in that it's interesting that anyone races a standing mile for ET like a drag strip. Apply TX Mile rules (or any other standing mile in the U.S. I've heard of) and none of the other cars are anywhere near the Lambo. I have zero interest in launching my 1,000-1,500 whp street car from a dig, and don't really get why anyone else would either. It is pretty amazing that UGR could ship a car to the other side of the world and provide zero input to the owner (my understanding is he never even called them before the race) and have it run over 230 mph, even with a horrendous launch.

I appreciate the gracious thoughts, we've worked hard on this combination and its very rewarding to drive these cars. All the hard effort paid off when you get behind the seat of one of these Gallardo's
I'm the friend that drove it. It idled great, had no lurching or hesitation at low-speed, under boost it pulled very linearly and consistently with no hiccups, and it didn't produce any strange noises or smells. All in all, it was very nice-driving, 800'ish whp car, with no observable issues.
