Lambo Clutch Job Project
For my first post i decided to share a little project a friend and i are doing...
A few weeks ago a buddy decided to do his own clutch job on his Murcielago. We also did the AWD delete and some engine maintenance while it's out...
front brakes are the same size as a Smart car wheel, lol...
I polished the exhaust while it was off...
Finally, got the motor out...

The following weekend 5 of us attempted to replace plugs, AWD delete, and getting the engine back in. We managed to replace the plugs and make the Murci RWD. Speaking of AWD delete; removes about 94lbs from the car. Operation Mini SV complete ;-) Unfortunately, the engine hoist wasn't up to the job. It just didn't have a long enough arm. Called it a night.
Sunday afternoon, after the owner secured a better endowed engine hoist and some wheel dollies, he and I tackled pulling the engine and then the transmission. Good tools make a job easy. Also, I can now check off my bucket list: Cradle Murci Transmission in arms. Everything was mated up however, when the owner looked at the pics i took he noticed the flywheel looked different. Apparently we were sent an LP unit. So we had to wait two weeks for the correct setup and decided to go with an upgrade and get a kevlar clutch. Should be here this week. *fingers crossed*
And now the pics...

It always on. In the pic you can see the shaft (8 o'clock to the flywheel) that drives the rear differential, for the RWD conversion all you have to do is remove the front prop shaft, front diff, and front half shafts. It is all harware, no sensors.
Pros:
30+ hp increase
Better fuel mileage
Longer clutch life
Easier to drive at low speeds
Easier to get moving from a stop
More likely to launch/go WOT in 1st because there's no worry about killing the clutch
Drop 92lbs

Great DIY and fantastic photos.
Is the AWD delete just a hardware delete? I would guess that there are sensors involved for the traction control, if so an ECU re-flash would also be required ... interesting.
Keep us updated.

WG: It's just hardware. Supposedly, the traction control is passive and is monitored by the ABS sensors. It just cuts power. Don't forget, the Murci is over 10 years old. It might be a bit more complicated with the Aventador.
