Lamborghini SUV: Dear GOD..

You read correct. There are rumors out that Lamborghini the Supercar Manf. will be making a SUV. Perhaps to compete with the Cayenne?
Remember these are artist photoshops.

"It's built some of the world's finest supercars - but now Lamborghini is going back to its roots with an astonishing 4x4, exclusively revealed in this week's mag.

The Italian giant is no stranger to all-wheel-drive vehicles - company founder Ferrucio Lamborghini started out building tractors - but its next new model won't necessarily be a racer. Enthusiasts of the brand might have expected a four-seater to rival the Ferrari Scaglietti, but it looks as though a luxury off-roader is on track instead.

Lambo president Stephan Winklemann told Auto Express: "There is more need for an SUV, and parent firm Audi produces the Q7, so for me, this is a better option than a 2+2. I would like to do more, but we are a small company and can't build all the models we want at once."

Lamborghini Espada -- inspiration for a new model?

Lamborghini is expanding its portfolio, and could be about to build a successor to the legendary Espada. According to this week's Autocar, Lambo chief designer Luc Donckerwolke wants to expand the company's range outwards from just the Murcielago and Gallardo.

What's prompted the potential move is the establishment in the market of the two cars, and the imminent arrival of a new V12. In addition, the experience of Bentley, also VW-owned, showed that it is possible to expand out of a niche. Well, Lamborghini did start with tractors...

The story is based around the discovery of advanced design studies by student Emily Sawamuru that were developed as pat of a Lamborghini-sponsored at the Pasadena Art Center in California. The Center is one of the world's top automotive design colleges, and carmakers often use students for this purpose. The car itself looks set to be a four-seater GT based on an Audi-supplied aluminium space-frame chassis. The report suggests that the 6.2-litre V12 will be front-mid mounted, and that it will generate a hefty 620bhp and a seriously meaty 511lb-ft of torque.

We wont know until next year if it will go ahead and, even if it does, the car won't arrive until 2009. We can but hope....

I feel like this may ruin the image and lambo fans worldwide will be pissed. On the other hand I can't see every rich soccer mom picking up Lil' johnny in these. They dont look bad in some of the pictures its not the first truck Lambo has ever made. Plus they will be to expensive for most. I think the latter two may not be the same car but i threw them in for discussion.

Yes, LM002. I drove a few of them. They drive and feel like a school bus, heavy clutch pedal, lots of buttons. EXPENSIVE to repair.... But one rare badass truck!!!!

I posted somewhere about how when I was a kid my Dad and I were driving through Westport Connecticut and saw one of those. I remember we both freaked out. We were stuck at a red light but we saw the driver come out of a store, get in, amd grind the gears trying to reverse. That's one of those moments forever etched in to my head.

Yeah, I saw one in an immaculate maintenance bay in an exotic dealer in SLC. Good times.

My Ex-business partner owned an LM002. He traded it in for a 360 Spyder. I am not quite sure what he got for it but it was a huge piece of crap. It did have a V12 though.

LM002's problem, among others, is finding tires for them.

It's also slow, has a fully independent suspension (bad for off-road), and the clutch is so heavy you have to lean into it.... Car is a novelty item now days.
