That wouldn't be the fastest production ring time record. there are some in the 6 minute range. Could be wrong that it wouldn't be production though.

Yep was correct on the production

If you consider a Radical or a Gumpert "production" cars you'd be correct, I suppose.

The only cars in the top 10 that I would consider actual production cars would be:

1. LFA 7:14
2. GT2 RS 7:18
3. ZR1 7:19.63
4. Viper ACR 7:22.1
5. Z06 Carbon 7:22.68

Barely road legal race cars are ultra-low volume and should have their own category, imo.

$70K on top of the already crazy $375K price for the Ring package . . . Sheesh, for that it better be fast.

Awesome time...waiting for the video to be posted. Beating the GT2 RS would be legendary.

I wish people do not post wiki links without reading the details. Reports calim fastest by "vehicle produced currently by a mainstream manufacturer" and among cars that are street legal in places\countires where it matters.

I agree with you but you left out the gtr!! I hate when people compare cars like the ssc ultimate aero to the veyron, as far as im concerned that is a glorified kit car, i mean anyone with money can pay to build a hyper car, if the make a few of them does it make it a production car??

The GT-R is an absolute beast and perhaps the performance bargain of the decade....but....according to fastestlaps, it sits at #13/17 which is why I didn't include it.

I feel the exact same way. If anyone has seen a Radical it is obvious it is basically an overpowered go-cart much like the Ariel Atom.

The standard LF-A clocked a 7:38 in independent tests (s. above)
and with a Nürburgring package it´s 24 seconds faster?
lol! Not buying this at all!
All these Factory Ring Times are getting ridicilous!
I think those record cars in the vids (and i mean all carmakers) are all tuned to the max.

reminds me of when the gtr came out with a ridiculous ring time lol and they sayed it gained like 7 seconds because of tires only lol...still the lfa has proved to be a very good car that seems to be a monster.

I'm not sure why a 7 second gain would even raise eyebrows?

The 'Ring is almost 21 km long, so race tires picked up 0.3 seconds/km. Doesn't seem so far fetched, imo.
