Macan: USA Builds Start in March

My dealer just got official word that the first USA allocations will be March build dates with Late April - May delivery dates.

They have been allocated Two "S" and One "Turbo" for March manufacture.

Snig,

How large is your Porsche Dealer? I'm waiting to hear back on my dealers initial allotment, which I assume will be limited.

Thanks

It's Porsche of Annapolis, and they're a decent sized dealership.

Just got another email back from them...looks like allocations will be even more constrained...

"I wanted to correct what I said about our Macan allocations. Our first one will in fact be a Macan S march production, our second Macan S will be an April production, and our Macan Turbo is slated to be a May production. The first one we get will be our "launch vehicle" that we will use as a demo and for our launch party (don't know when that is yet)."

My dealer at NJ shore was allocated only one Turbo also. I put my deposit down on the Turbo today.

A dealer (Porsche Main Line) I recently have been in contact with emailed me the following:
"We just received our first allocation today. We will be getting 3 Turbo’s and 13 “S” models starting in April and continuing through June. One of the Turbo’s has already been spoken for with another customer."

One of those S versions is mine, man! I left a deposit on one yesterday.

I love Porsche of The Main Line. They've always treated me very well.

Congrats! What options did you order?

Yeah I was treated very well when I visited a few weeks ago. I spent 2 hrs test driving a couple of Cayennes and then they "twisted my arm" and made me drive a Cayman S!

When I received the email regarding their allocations, they wanted me to place a deposit for one of the two remaining Turbos, but I need to first see if the size is going to fit my needs and a thorough test drive

Thanks, Kief. What I'm looking for is a fun daily driver, good looking, good handling, and good quality small SUV. I already have a 911, so I don't necessary need a very fast vehicle. I was also hoping to keep the cost around $55K, but having played around with the configurator, I quickly realized that's not going to be enough to get the minimal options I'd like to have.

Ultimately, I would've loved to be able to get a base or diesel version. Unfortunately, as we all know Porsche has adopted a top down approach with the Macan, and who knows when the base or diesel version will be introduced. I've therefore upped my max budget to around $60K, and I think I can get what I want for that. The options that I have in mind are:

Macan S $49,900

Agate Grey Metallic $690

Standard Interior in Luxor Beige $0

Infotainment Package $2,990

Stainless Steel skid Plate (Front and Rear) $1,410

Porsche Entry & Drive $810

ParkAssist (Front and Rear) incl. Reversing Camera $1,460

Automatically Dimming Mirrors i.c.w. Power Seats (8-way) $420

Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) $0

19" Macan Turbo Wheels $0

Wheel Center Caps with Full-Color Porsche Crest $185

Seat Heating (Front) $525

Comfort Lighting Package i.c.w. Power Seats (8-way) $325

Power Seats (8-way) with Memory Package $0

European Delivery (Leipzig) $0

Destination Charge $1,195

Total Price $59,910

I'll be at my dealer tomorrow, and depending on how quickly they start hitting the US, may have an S on order shortly thereafter. April may be a bit too late for me :/

Gonna drop my M5 and get a Macon Turbo! This ride seems pretty impressive and gives me everything I need.

S

$1,500 off Sticker

White
20' RS Spyder Wheels
Adaptive Sport Seats - Black
Premium Package Plus
Infotainment Package
Side Blades in Exterior Color
Sunblind for Rear Side Windows
Carbon Fiber Interior Package
Heated Carbon Steering wheel
Park Assist including Camera
BOSE
Porsche Crest of Headrests
Sport Chrono Package
Exterior package in Black

I've been going back and forth on Spyder wheels vs the 21' ones. I need all season's or a seperate set of winter tires which might be too costly for my tastes in the 21' size.
