07 Maserati QP sport or 06 BMW M5
I've been looking at the Maserati QP sport for quite sometime now and have found a good deal with the current market the way it is. I have a 06 M5 with 45,000 mi running in great shape. I never had any issues what so ever. Will the reliability be the same same with the Maserati. The car I'm looking to get only has 9,100 mi one owner. Tell me what issues I could be facing driving a Maserati daily. I put about 30,000 plus miles on a car regularly so I have to buy and take a hit when I trade.

Italian cars can be like women. They have unexpected needs!!!
The 07 is a greatly improved car due to the auto tranny, but know what you are getting into.

Tell me what makes you want to switch. I'm not looking to replace the performance. I just love the looks of the car and how it drives as a GT car.

absolutely positively no. but will it be a helluva lot more fun to drive, yeah, for sure. also presume it's an auto tranny and not the CC as there are 07 CC's.

This is definately a decision made with the heart, not the head.
(And TDY, I'll be getting a DuoSelect transmission. After SMG in the BMW, I can certainly live with it!)

Now you are in dangerous territory! Have we not all done this with a woman and later regretted it?
Now I know you are drinking!!!

So I have had too many BMW's to count in my life and have had an 07 QP sport auto for about a year. From a sample of one, I will say that the QP has had fewer issues than my BMW's. The last couple of years models are much better than the older ones according to my local dealer. I would echo what other's have said about the duo select vs the true auto. The ZF auto is a great tranmission and perfect for the car. I don't mind the duo select as much as others but you should pay a much lower price for it as resale value is absolute crap.

Think carefully about that purchase.

The market is flooded with them, and values have dropped dramatically.
My 530i is 2.5 years old, ordered with everything at $62K, and I'd be lucky to see $42K-$43K now.
So that's a long-term keeper!
Sell your M5 outright. You will do better.

You should be able to reap on your "used" purchase of the maser just as good as you'll lose on the M5. Maybe not if you are focused on just one car, but if you were to look around I'd bet you would. Maser is such a more unique and interesting ride than the M5, which is "high-strung". You will probably be giving something up in ultimate performance, but who really drives like that on a daily & regular basis to care?
