looking at an 07 QP to replace an audi A8 and corvette (have seven cars need to cut back). I was looking at m5's but they are not very reliable as per my research. The qp is not as fast but has nicer looks. when did they start putting zf automatics in them?

 

They started putting them in 2007. They are a fantastic option for a daily driver. If it has what looks to be a conventional shifter handle in the center console and not a little tree, it is the ZF transmission. If it has paddles and the conventional shifter, it is also a ZF. I believe it is Maserati stepping up to the plate to make a daily driver for today's market with low maintenance. If it passes a PPI, I'd recommend it. A fantastic car.

 

i wouldn't expect the qp to be much better than an m5 in reliability but imo it's no contest, a ZF or one of the later duoselect cars would be the perfect DD, can't think of many other cars that offer so much.

 

If you plan on driving this vehicle hard every day I would defiently go with the M5 that engine and trans is pretty much bullet proof plus 4yr warranty with no out of pocket costs is a insane deal. The QP last I checked with a 3yr 36k and still pricey. Just my 2cents GL !

I have numerous Audi's Porsches and just got an 07 QP. It is fantastic and I am driving it all of the time. It makes Audi/BMW/Merc sedans seem boring. It's not as rational as the german sedans but who cares when you open it up and hear that Ferarri engine!

 

I was thinking of the same car as my future DD. 07 qp GTsport. Love the looks and attention to detail on the interior.
