Quattroporte and quality....
Hello all
I am new here.
I am now a BMW driver, have a 550 and are not so happy.
Well, yes, it is a good car, but soooooooooooooooooo boring. Had more fun,, enjoyed the good old E39 a lot more.
At the same time, I have been dreaming about a QP. But, I have been told they are VERY expensive to keep running, 10-15 000$ a year just in service. And then is the "quality"....AI AI AI.
I mean, are a QP from 07-08 a bad buy?
Or, is that just talk?
But, the looks, the syling, the inside..ohh, so cool. I did test drive one last week, and it was great fun. Good seats, good, NO GREAT, sound.
How is the quality and the prices to keep it running?
I am not sure, but my BMW is not cheep, and it is FAR from the quality it was, so far these year I have had in at the dealer 3 weeks, just to fix, or shall I say try, fixing the Idrive. So far, no luck.
All help is good for me.

I switched from the a 2006 M5 to a 2006 Sport QP. All the talk about it being expense to maintain I think is just talk from people who have never owned one. I have over 50,000 miles on mine now and it runs just as good, if not better now, then when I brought it. The only expensive change is the clutch. I have the oil changed every 7500 miles which runs $352. When I have the time I change it myself . My clutch was changed at 33,000 and it ran me $3500 along with a scheduled service which was $1600. So that's my highest expense in 2 years of owning this car. I suggest that if you really like the car do your homework get a PPI and enjoy. I've had the dealer lower mine 1" on all corners and have added FD DBW and Tubi exhaust which has transformed the car into a different machine.

Hello and thank you all for helping me
Well, it does not sound so bad, good
It is a great looking car, goes fast, and you dont se one on every street corner. As one do with a BMW or a MB. The QP makes you stick out, in a good way.
Oh, cant wait to go to the dealer and talk more
Have a good afternoon

Good luck with the decision! (And post pics when you get the new ride)
I have found that I as I get older, my decisions surrounding my cars becomes more emotional than rational. I too am toying with the idea of getting one (GT-S in my case) after I heard one on the street - these machines make noises that stir the soul as they say...
