And it did not fair very well with a paltry time of 8:13

To give a comparison, the Turbo and 360 CS got 7:56, the GT3 got 7:54, the GT3 RS got 7:47 and the GT2 got 7:46

Again, people don't buy these cars because of how they perform and rank at the Nurburgring. Interesting exercise, but so what. Bragging rights for a few months I guess?

True... the car has many uses too...

Need to shave your leg hairs?
Drive the car for an hour or two, and the heat will be so intense in the footwell, that your hair will be singed off...

Hungry? Want some sausage and eggs?
Just drive the car for an hour or two, get out of it, and you can use the hood as a skillit.

Dont forget the 7.43.5 of the Murcielago and the 7.52 of the Gallardo.

Really?? I drove mine around all day yesterday with the top down and did not notice any heat in the footwell. I would also bet that most cars have a hot hood after driving around.

Every test I have ever seen has the SRT-10 beating the Viper GTS in every performance category ... in the test that you have noted the GTS beat the SRT. Sounds like something was wrong with the SRT.

Yea, it is kinda surprising. I 've driven Ryan's Viper and length and stock for stock, it handles better than the Turbo imo. Of coarse I'm no pro, but, it is one hell of a car for $80k

Stock for stock, the SRT-10 out-accel and out-brakes the Turbo... and handling/stability has got to be even at best, though I'd think the SRT-10 would have the advantage there as well.

IMO, 8:13 is a pretty bad time for a car as capable as the SRT-10. I'm curious too as to the weather condition and driver experience involved in the run.

Its not wrong at all... as I said, its a nice car with an amazing bang for the buck, just not my taste in automotive strategy/design...
