nice car - the S is a fairly heavy car so how does it cope with the huge power - still fast, i own 2 55 cars but have never experienced the S class (although the SL is about 4400lbs, the S class is near or over 5000lbs.)

Its the fastest sedan Ive ever owned. It really opens up over 100. I dont notice any body roll or anythng you get from large sedans.
Im coming from a 996tt.. so its alot different, but I think it would give a stock 996tt a good run on the top end.
Its very well mannered even in sport and manual mode. But I have noticed that the trac control is pretty agressive on fast starts.
I thought about a few other AMG models. But Ive always loved the S class and I think its one of the sexiest cars MB has ever made ( the body lines)

Congrats Dave.
I was able to drive a few S55s, and really like the brute power and luxury. The swapping over to the S600/S65, the power is brought on in a more refined manner... so I'd go with the 55 as well. It has a lot of potential as well if you decide to do aftermarket mods.
