It does look that way, but its an optical illusion....the runoff area is slightly uphill and it makes it look like the track is downhill, but it isn't.
Beauty of that track is looking up from the starting line at the Byron Nuclear Power Plant's cooling towers lol....

Hmmmm, may be but never ran any faster there than at GLD and thats with the ole Lightning....heavy heavy and auto auto (even heavier than the SL)...I would think that thing would have been a touch faster at byron than GLD....but who knows
