C63 does 0-60 in 3.9 sec!! C&D

You don't get the point. The C63 with JUST TUNE can make 507, and i konw that becuase look at the specs of the E63 which has the same engine. So 40hp out of stock motor is NOT hard. I have a VQ35 which are a biiitch to mod, and i got 40hp out of that........so i have no doubt that 40hp out of the AMG motor won't be a problem my friend.
Getting 40 HP out of a naturally aspirated motor is easy. We're in agreement. Getting the C63 to make 500 HP will be easy. We're in agreement. Getting the C63 to make an additional 40 or so HP on top of 500 HP can and will be done. We're in agreement. This brings us up to 540 HP with simple bolt ons and ECU upgrades. Very possible and likely. In otherwords, we're in agreement.
Now, here's where we disagree: Going from 450 hp to 580 hp (remember 580 is the number discussed way up towards the top of this thread) will be difficult with bolt ons. By bolt ons I do not mean FI or nitrous.
While I do believe that 550 HP is possible, as calimed by a few tuners, I have not seen a 63 dyno or trap time that proves it has been done yet. Again, just to be clear, I think it can be done as the stock E63 engine already makes 507 HP. Going from 550 to 580 will not happen, in my opinion, with simple bolt ons and ECU tuning.
While I enjoy internet dyno debate and internet racing every once in a while it's kind of silly. Please post a few dynos or 1/4 mile trap speeds on the 63 that prove me wrong. I've searched but can't find any.
I'd be thrilled if someone builds a 580 HP NA C63. As a matter of fact I'd be one of the first in-line for such a kit.

I guess I need to brush up on my communication skills because, as you know, I'm dumb.

You're basing this on one magazine article?

Did anyone read the article? It weighs more than the RS4. How the F did that happen?
I had a C55 and loved it, the C63 will certainly be great but the weight issue is so off the charts can't believe no one else is mentioning it.

That is the problem with so many things today....we just want more and more. I guess that is why rogaine and viagra exist!

I am basing this on previous Mercedes history and several C63 articles. The e55 was rated 30 hp lower than the SL55 yet dynod the same, difference was on paper. All evidence points to this being the case with the C63, what are you basing YOUR assumption on?

You seem to like dragtimes.com so here's a list of E63 dynos including one with a Renntech ECU upgrade:
http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...no-Sheets.html
None of these cars appear to make power beyond the Mercedes published spec including the Renntech car.
I'm making one assumption at this point. The C63 will not make 580 HP with bolt-ons. That is all. However, it should be a fun car.

You're basing it on one article, the article in Car and Driver. There's no evidence pointing to anything yet but I would not be surprised if the C63 made close to the same HP as the E63. However, I'm not going to make that assumption until the car is available.

There are OTHER articles available other than car and driver, AMS, EVO, etc., which is evidence supporting my argument that the numbers are just on paper to not upset the higher end 63 owners in the EXACT same fashion as the e55 being rated lower than the Sl55.
I never said that the 63's would make more power than they are rated. I very clearly stated the C63 is making as much power as the others. Mercedes does not spend their time sitting around and trying to make the C63 slower. They already have an established record of changing hp ratings on paper not reflecting wheel hp. I am waiting patiently for a C63 dyno where all will be revealed.

So you wouldn't be suprise if the C63 made the same horsepower? This entire thread you spent saying it was making 450 hp and 550 hp with bolt ons is impossible. Now you say it won't go to 580 hp, whatever works for you I guess.

We do not know what the C63 HP will be. The point that I'm trying to make is this: Gains of 100 HP with bolt ons will not be possible. I've been using 450 HP as a baseline. Get it?
Also, I've read the articles that you mention. The performance figures are very different than the C&D figures.

Here's AMS:
0-100km/h 4.7 sec
0-160km/h 10,3 sec
0-200km/h 15,6 sec
Slalom: 63,7 km/h
Lane change: 130,7 km/h
Brake distance 100-0km/h 36 meter
Brake distance 190-0km/h 130 meter
Autocar:
0-62 in 4.5 seconds
Cartoday:
0-62 in 4.7 seconds
In summary, it's too soon to make any HP assumptions.

I responded originally to post #10 which mentioned 580 HP so the number stuck in my head. Also, please read post #17.

You do realize you have to put the numbers in context as to how they test don't you? You can't just compare euro figures from one mag to american figures in one mag or else nothing would make any sense. Check AMS numbers for other 63's and put it in context, the C63 is going to be the fastest 63.
Anyone can figure out that another 50 hp on a 6.3 liter motor is nothing. 80 hp will be achieved as well, hardly impossible. The S54 has done it, the S62 has done it, the s85 has done it, and they are all far more high strung. I don't expect the aftermarket to be making power on a car that hasn't hit the streets yet. It is just plain naive to think that mercedes v8 is maxed out.
Evosports Ml63 dyno with powerchip software alone supports this and then some. The C63 is NOT putting out 450 at the crank, and this car is going to be a monster, especially with bolt ons. Going in circles is getting me dizzy.
