Recently, I spent some time in the drivers seat (again) of a friends SLK55 AMG.

I must say that, for some sick and twisted reason- I'm really wanting one. What's swaying my decision is you can get 1.9% up to 72 months- not that I'll go that far, but that's almost like free money.

To sweeten the deal there's $5,000 cash back that can be combined with the APR and I can get one for the 'friends and family' discount. (12.25%) off.

The question is- should I pull the trigger? (I'm not looking for you should buy X,Y or Z responses) Next year I'm buying the new 997.5 911 Coupe, which should be had for a decent price.

Just wondering how people have overall enjoyed their SLK55's. I'm not even sure why I'm asking....I drove the ***** off of one at the AMG Challenge in Ontario CA- that car was by far the best on the track. - More like a Porsche then the other AMG's I drove at that time.

And forget C63- I'm not waiting or paying the premiums for them.

This is drop top fun for the remainder of the year.

I think I just answered my own thread. I think the depreciation for this car will kill this idea for me.

 

is depreciation really bad on this car? my friend is getting hers tomorrow. NEW 08 model year fully loaded for about $65k w tax and shipping.

 

Well, the way I worked the numbers I'm only going to keep it one year. So it doesn't make sense.

I'll just buy another motorcycle and call it a day.
