C63 on HRE MONOBLOCKS - Happy but Sad
#31
It's great to see you are taking care of Jason but at the same time, you put some serious stress on the guy.
Since you knew there will be a problem with the wheels; why didn't you inform Jason (prior to his purchase of HRE wheels) he will have an offset problem (on the rears) and will require some tweaking (so to speak)? Rather you waited for your customer to contact you, moreover, I bet he couldn't sleep that night.
In any event, I'm glad to see you take care of your customers.

So what's not cool about my message? Requesting a vendor to inform future C63 Monoblock customers that he/she may have problems with the rear wheels. And regardless who makes the wheels, the offset doesn't lie -its what the customer ordered and recommended by the manufacturer.
I totally understand if the wheels were first set every made for the C63 (trial and error), but these were the same wheels Ben has on his C63 and they work fine. What I didn't realize (Ben did not mention on his reply) the wheels were installed on his C63 after he lowered his car.
BEN - Sorry man, I did not get the full details around your car setup. Now I understand why you were not able to inform your customer.

And it is apparent that you simply do not know wheels if you think for an example an ET40 offset is the same from one wheel manufacturer to the next. Offsets can vary by a few mm and I have experienced this first hand.

The vendor clearly stated " .....these are same specs and offsets as my wheels and they dont stick out ..." and in your last post you implied that the vendor knew that they would not work and sold them to the OP which is simply not true. That is not cool.

And before you imply I do not know anything about wheels, read what you just wrote "the vendor stated these are the "SAME" SPECS and OFFSET", so we are not talking about different offset/specs. here.
Now what I will like to hear from Jason, after the shop lowered his C63 (without any camber adjustments yet), was it visible the rear wheels were still sticking out/tires rubbing the fenders?
My comments is not to disrespect a vendor or member, rather a comment to educate the board with their personal experiences, such as the case here.
Have a great day!

Trace and Crand both have valid points. Ben used the same specs on his HRE Monoblocks to spec my wheels...The other C63's he has also done..used the same specs..but the ringer is they were all lowered. The wheels from my eye are about 3/4 inch out..All of the folks at WB are very friendly and respond fast to any question I had. Even when Ben was out..Carlos and Andre were right there to talk and help take care of the issue. Ben also sent me out a brand new set of Eibach springs for the C that are getting installed Monday. I am hoping this will help correct the issue, but if not.....new wheels will be a comin'!! I have no doubt in my mind Ben and the folks at WB are top notch, and being from the wheel industry before..for HRE to find someone and retain them as your #1 Dealer/Distributor is putting a lot of trust in them..So I also have trust in WB..I just worry that the summer will be over too soon here in NY...
I did get the car back, and back on the road....vacuum line was replaced..now I am ready to roll...I will let you know what happens, after the springs are on. Cheers.

It will kick the camber out and angle the tires up under the fenders if I understand it correctly. It still looks the wrong offset to me though. They still look so far off if you can get them to fit by adjusting the camber it looks like you'd wear out the inner edges of those tires in a month.

Great looking car and +1 for WB for handling the situation promptly. The net has a lot of shady wheel/rims dealers (trust me, I know) so it's nice to see a company that stands behind their products and doesn't give you the run around.
