Great choice, that's what I wanted but I don't think they stock the 265/19" in the U.S. yet? But it does look like the R888s run wide as others have told me.

Great choice in tire. I use them all of the time on my track car.
Boo - You are correct. They run about 10mm wider than whats on the sidewall. So does their new R1R street tire, which is hands down the best street tire I have ever tried.

They are not really a drag tire. The compound is softer than conventional street tires and the contact patch is bigger due to the tread pattern, but the sidewall is much stiffer, which is not good for drag racing. They may be a bit better than street tires on the drag strip, but there is no way they would touch a drag radial.

Just be aware that the MPSCups or the R888 are only going to go for 4500 miles or less.
I got 4600 out of the MPSCups on my GT3 and went to the PS2s for a little more life.
This AMG with R compounds REALLY sounds like a nice setup though.
I have the 18's which will make the purchase price more palatable. It was $540 EACH for the MPSCups for 305s on the rear of the Porsche.
I would like to hear your driving impressions versus the stock tires.
