CLS63 or SL55?

I'm looking at a 2007 CLS63 and a 2007 SL55. Anyone have any experiences with the two?

Which would you pick?

While the SL55 is in no way boring, the CLS63 has the double-take coupe look and a more powerful engine under the hood. Both those cars are not track-bred, so go for the one with more power and more panache. And besides, you can always seat four in the CLS (ableit only for short periods of time).

Oh and I forgot to mention, the CLS63 has a limited slip dif. I don't think the Sl55 had one, did it? Again neither are really that much for the track, but if its true, then the CLS is just getting better.

My old man had a CLS and it is pretty comfortable. Four people could take a long trip. As for the SL55 my friend has one, it is very quick, but i prefer the styling of the CLS over the SL. The best part of the SL is it has a hard top convert, the CLS doesnt. And plus its a 6.2 litre engine vs a 5.5.

More powerful engine under the hood... huh

The 07 SL55 has 517bhp compared to the 507 in the CLS63. They are about even on the road in a straight line.

The 55 is heavy but it would take out the CLS63 in the twisties no problem. I have driven a friends CLS63 quite a bit and we both know the SL handles much better.

The CLS63 and SL55 only have LSD's if equipped with the 030 package.

030 SL55 with panaromic roof, the engine has lots of modifying potential.

CLS63 for me.
Depends the purpose but the CLS seems more practical for me.
I dont particularly like the styling for the SL55 myself.
The CL63 however, I have driven and loves but I suppose from your screen name you have one ?

I find it odd comparing the two since they seem like two different animals to me. I can't help you decide between the CLS63 and the SL55 but if I were chosing between a cls55 and a cls63 or sl55 and sl63, I would take the 55 engine over the 63... I'm probably bias here because I sell parts for a living with the 55 engine having more mods than the 63 but I also prefer 55 because of its low end power vs the high reving V8 in the 63. but thats just me. if you like the performance of the 63 engine better then buy that one.

if you need 4drs in your life get the cls, if you dont i would get the SL......then chose your motor
