I`d say don`t go crazy and run after the biggest wheel size possible..
bigger is not necessarily better,so I suggest to go for some nice 22"s with a fat lip

PPL run 22's on CL550's etc...But thats a huge performance disadvantage....Max I would go with 21's...perfect balance of looks while still maintaining some semblance of handling, performance

22's seem to fill out those huge fenders quite well, what would be the maxx wheel width front and rear with the 22's. Also what wheels do you guyz like for this ride...?

22" is really the biggest u should go....If i had an amg version of the CL or S, I wouldnt personally go bigger than 21" because the handling/looks will be the best of both worlds....

I asked the same question in a different thread, and Because of the rear brake size of the AMG's, 3.5" rear lip is max

different wheel designs give different sized lips, so some wheels with "cheater" lips (these wheels have faces which curve inward as it gets closer to the lip), like some of the giovanna wheels, will give larger lips than other wheels, like old school BBS meshies.

so really, you need to be looking at width and offset and disk size (especially since this is going on a car with large calipers) when you're buying rims, since lip size can be misleading.

also, 21's might be a good compromise, but tires are rare and expensive if you decide to go this route.
