$12.5K off MSRP on E550...time to buy?

I would shoot for 20k off the e350 if it's a loaded example. I too have seen that thread on slickdeals and think at anything less than 20k off you're better off getting the Genesis. MB values always tank especially when a new model comes out so take that into consideration. In addition the genesis is a semi-hot new car so it'll hold its value better and, based on previous experience with MB, cost far less in maintenance/cause fewer headaches when something goes wrong.

With the new Eclass costing 5400 less, I would factor that into the depreciation and current price of the outgoing 550. Otherwise you are only saving the difference between the new model and the discount (5400-12500) which is about 7100 or 10%; not much of a discount on a non-current model.
I think you can get something closer to 18k or 28% off a 550.
Plus MB-F has 1.9 APR, but that ends very soon.

I got a verbal agreement on a loaded E550 today, but theye only offered me 27K on my Cayenne, no way (it has 43K miles and is in excellent condition). However they said they would most likely give 18K on my Infinity G 35. I have a local kid who wants it and is willing to pay 22K, so I am going to talk to him. If I get a satisfactory price on the G35 there is a very nice E350 w/ the premium 1 pack and burl walnut trim in a perfect color combo. It is the demo car and has 2k on it but it is untitled. MSRP is 58K and I will offer 38.5K if I can get the 1.9% financing on the balance.

Remember, the 350 does not have...
12k in trunk money. Only the 550. The 350 has 10k, minus whatever the 7.2% profit and the holdback (roughly another 1k to a large market dealer). And no, to someone's prior post, 12 k isn't going to cover the depereciation, not with the new cars already being discounted, and at cheaper MSRP. But the 211 is a nice drive and to me, a more handsome car than the current trim on the replacement. One other note, MB dealers are not quite in the mess with this car like they have been with other discoutinued models. They have some to sell, but not near as many as in the past, and it is only August, not October. I also hear there are no more in the port.

I got 11K off the car with the 1.9% finanacing, on top of that MBUSA had an incentive going where they cover the first and last payment of the car on them. So I decided to shorten my financing to 24 months to get another 3 grand off the car. SO I got a total of 14K off the car in April. Which I thought was fair for a new E350 in the So Cal market...it gets fantastic mileage and is working out perfectly for a company car....

I got her... 15.3K under MSRP, took 2 days of haggling. They ended the 10K cash to dealers but now have an 8K program, I still got the 1.9% 36 month financing.
I think I got a great deal.
