C-Class 300, 350 experience

Thinking about a 300 or 350 as a dd.
Overall build seems to be outstanding according to german reviews obviously.
I just wanted to ask those of you who have this car....can you tell me what model and year you have, also how much mpg do you get.
Is there a difference in mph between the 300 and the 350 ?
According to mbusa , on the hwy there both capable of attaining 25 mpg.

thanks in advance,
G

I don't know about the C, but I have a 2009 E350 and absolutely love her as a DD. MB is struggling to overcome the damage to their image from the Chrysler merger and mechanics and others I have talked to say quality has improved tremendously in the last 3 years.

MB is offering 8K in trunk money and I was able to negotiate another 7k for 15K off MSRP. Deal of the Century, IMO. If you are former military you can get another 4K off. That only applies to the E series.

My wife wanted a smaller car and gave up her 06' CLS55 for a 08' C350 Saks Edition(special interior etc) After 23K miles she doesn't want to give it up. Recently she got 28 mpg averaging 65 mph from Las Vegas (260 miles)! This is a terrific car, as the build quality is far better than a C55 I had. Friend has a C300 and expect you can about 2 mpg better but not as quick.

^ he's right. But honestly MB makes up for it because that car looks really really sharp. The new design looks fantastic, and I can't get over how effing nice those headlights work with the front grill.

What's trunk money and how were you able to negotiate another 7k, i am super interested to know.
E-Class wouldn't be so bad, though i haven't driven one yet. I plan to stop by the local rusnak dealer and drive one on friday. But yeah i'd be super interested to know how the heck you were able to pull 15k off MSRP.
More savings = More money for Proto

Traded her CLS for a C ? What a thing to do! But i am glad that she likes it. I'm also going to be test-driving the C-class friday. I took the M5 to service yesterday , and my buddy at the dealer gave me a 335 sedan (Loaner Car). I am not impressed. [No pun intended]
Really looking into a classier more luxurious car. Thanks for the feedback!

interior looks cheap
Really? You think so .....
And i thought the 3series interior looked cheap.
hmmmph...i should take a more careful look on friday .

Just checked mbusa. It seems that the E350 is 18\26 While the C300 is 18\25 mpg ......why ?

Not sure about the mileage, as the E is a bigger car.

Here is a link to an explanation of the deal:http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthr...2809&t=1471309

The problem is that stock is very very low on the 2009's.

My friend has the C350, what a beautiful car, sharp lines and just magnificent. The interior isnt that bad, the interior is actually not bad! I enjoyed riding and driving the car. I'd suggest it unless you are going for the E class which is even better! Deals are to be had.

Check out the Test drive and leave us your final impressions! Im sure you'll love the car!

I have had my 08 C350 for over a year and a little over 15K miles. No issue what so ever and it's a great DD. I get around 23mpg combined city/freeway driving. Highly recommend it.

George,

Got a call today, there are 2 e350's in Oakland for 38K (if you have USAA....bet you could still get them for close to 40K without).

Just had a C300 as a loaner car for a week while my CLS was getting serviced. As for my driving impressions, the car was just "blah". Felt underpowered and not really "fun" to drive, however it handled like it was on rails. I love the way it looks and the interior fit and finish wasnt too bad either. During normal city/highway driving i averaged about 23 mpg. During a 6 hr drive over the weekend, I averaged about 27 mpg.
