I started this thread in the hope of creating a common forum for all US/Canadian P30 owners, or prospective owners. There is a lot of misinformation floating around out there about these cars and it would be nice to set some of it straight. Besides, they are getting increasing interest and attracting good prices on Bring a Trailer, etc. I emailed all of the P30 owners that I have come across and hopefully, they will also start using this thread. If anyone knows of any other cars that I can add to the list, maybe they will find their way here and we can add their info.
Here are a couple of pics of my baby. Didn't realize how dusty it was, just from sitting in the garage.

Disappointing, to say the least, response to this Vlad. Have you any better success elsewhere?
Still hoping to find a nice one in a color other than black or silver...

Found a P30 at my yacht club. Silver with black interior. I will get the vin number next time I see it parked and also try and track down who the owner is. It has a red light on the trunk lid as opposed to a white one which mine has. I assume it is a 2006.

Rear light lens
Hi, thanks for that I didn’t know!
The lens is an MB part. It has a star emblem on the lens itself. The part number is SC02 E1 2058. I need to source another one because upon inspection I think my soft cleaning brush chipped a piece off the lense.
I would be interested to know where you purchased the side marker lights and part number for those because the white lens with amber bulb would look better on my white car than all amber
cheers

Thanks John. I wasn't aware that there was an option of a clear central brake light. My '08 has red as well. Maybe yours was an aftermarket replacement (I would be interested in that). Replaced my front marker lights last year with clear aftermarket ones (with amber bulbs). BTW- the easy way to distinguish an '06 from an '07 or '08 is by the grill. '07s and '08s had a 3-bar grill while '03s -'06s had the 4-bar grill.

Ooops! Getting my cars confused. Just walked out to the garage to find that the SL55 does have a clear center brake light- its the Porsche that is red! The clear turn indicators were not OEM. They are aftermarket and I found them on eBay . Quality is quite good. Fitting them was a *****. I valet-parked the car at a restaurant early last year and the next day I noticed that one light was cracked, as well as rub marks on the surrounding paint (of course, total denial of liability from the valet company). The rub marks buffed out, but I had to replace the light. To gain access, you need to jack up the car, remove the wheel and then completely remove the inner plastic fender lining, which is held in place by a number of different screws and fasteners. Once it is out, replacement of the light itself is not that hard. You will find that by the time you get to do the other side, you will know all the tricks and it will go quite quickly. BTW- my OEM MBZ jack decided to seize up and twist, even though it was on a level concrete garage floor and the wheels were chocked etc. I don't have a floor jack, so a few anxious moments trying to figure out how to get the car back on the ground and the jack disengaged. Luckily the scissor jack from my Range Rover did the job perfectly. This exchange just reminded me that I still need to find a replacement MBZ jack (plus probably a low profile floor jack for the garage).

2008 Fire Opal Red P30 on Craigslist
Just came across a Red/Black P30 on Craigslist in NY. 45k miles, asking $26,500. VIN checks out as a P30. Maybe seller doesn't know what he's got. Only downside- it has the regular SL55 wheels rather than the split rims.

Looking for a silver AMG SL55 with p30.
I am new to this thread. I am trying to find a particular Mercedes AMG. Does anyone have a 2007 or 2008 AMG SL55 with the performance package p30 they would like to sell? Do you know of someone who would like to sell?

@Rok_Dox Welcome to the thread. Here are a couple of P30s available right now:
2007 - https://carsandbids.com/auctions/9XxWzgZx/2007-mercedesbenz-sl55-amg?utm_source=autotempest&utm_medium=referral&utm _campaign=at_search
2008 - https://sacramento.craigslist.org/ctd/d/rancho-cordova-2008-mercedes-benz-sl55/7354688640.html
You can run the VIN number of any car you're looking at through www.MBEpc.net to make sure that it is a true P30. Some regular cars recently for sale have had the P30 wheels or even the 'safety car' front bumper, but weren't real P30s. As a guide, there were 135 MY2007 and 61 MY2008 P30s sold in the US. Most of the 2007s were manufactured in 2006 and the 2008s were made in 2007, so don't go by the month and year sticker on the firewall. Look for option code 807 or 808 ('year of modification') on MBEpc. The last digit is the year model (200-7 or 200-8).
You can also create a custom search on www.autotempest.com, save it and return to it every few days to see what pops up. It won't let you set a 'P30 filter' but you can go as far as 2007 and 2008 SL55s and then search from there.
Good luck!
