CLK DTM Facelift

CLK DTM Facelift
The last CLK DTM built by Mercedes AMG division was limited to a production of 100 cars, but they probably had orders for more than that. This is why AMG has apparently decided to build a new CLK DTM version now.
And since the first series was a limited edition, its successor needed a new design. Here are photos of a test car during high speed testing at Nürburgring. Not looking as wild as the first edition, the newcomer looks somewhat more discrete but still powerful.
Expect about the same horsepower as the first generation with the new 6.3 litre V8 delivering between 580 and 600 hp. AMG Chief, Volker Mornhinweg said in an recent interview that they might give the new 6.3 liter engine turbo and the new CGI fuel injection technology, thus a perfect engine for the AMG CLK DTM.
The pictures are showing an almost undisguised prototype, except for some camouflage on the air outlets in the front fenders
The new CLK DTM is expected to cost around 230,000 Euros, just like its predecessor. Not really a bargain, but for that money the dedicated buyer gets a car that accelerates to 200 km/h faster than he will be able to pronounce its name.

I was chatting about a facelift like a day or two ago...fantastic!
Seems better like a special edition of the safety car running in the F1 Grand Prix ...just cause I don't see the rear big spoiler.
Anyway pretty damn expensive and pretty damn hot and unique...

this is street AMG cars should look like. however, the pre-facelift CLK-DTM looks way hardcorer than this. this new style looks like an aggressive street car but not race car.

pilone hit the nail on the head - this definitely gets a lot of influence from the F1 Safety Car. While I'm a big fan of the previous CLK DTM, the fender flares and rocker panels are more integrated in this version, IMO. Will there be a US version? Doubtful, but the folks in the AMG Performance Studio may have a surprise or two in store . . .

I think they might add this to their "BLACK SERIES" with the recent SLK
SORRY NOT A CLK DTM.....
Silver CLK becomes “Black Series” - Not CLK DTM Facelift
After doing so with the SLK 55 AMG just recently, engineers are now making the CLK 63 AMG even sportier: They are about to develop an exclusive, emphatically puristic special series, a car that sets new standards in handling dynamics – the CLK 63 AMG Black Series - and not the CLK Facelift as previously reported. With the AMG 6.2-litre V8 engine, which has been boosted to 530 bhp, the numerous lightweight components, 19-inch AMG forged wheels, AMG adjustable sports suspension and AMG high-performance composite brakes, the special CLK 63 AMG brings its sports car talents to bear even more convincingly – and cuts an impressive figure especially on racing circuits.
Broad, brawny and low-slung – it's clear at first glance that the CLK 63 AMG Black Series is something very special. It offers a captivating view from the front with a redesigned AMG front apron and its broad openings, which supply the added transmission-oil cooler and the high-performance steering-oil cooler with plenty of fresh air. In addition, new side outlets made of carbon – still disguised in our pictures – ensure effective ventilation for the engine-oil coolers. The front wings, now wider, are made of reinforced plastic with ultra-light carbon-fibre composite material and feature black outlined air outlets.
The combination of low vehicle weight and a powerful AMG eight-cylinder engine ensures first-class performance. This CLK 63 AMG Black Series accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds (standard model: 5.2 s). Power transmission is accomplished using the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC with manual drive program ("M") and AMG aluminium gearshift paddles on the steering wheel.

That car as a CLK63 Black Series makes more sense - and it'll be a LOT less expensive than a CLK DTM. Like others, I personally don't care for the wheels that much (prefer the OZ's on the 'real" CLK DTM), but they can easily be replaced. Now we just need a US legal version.
