This discussion was more geared towards factory cars, not built ones. You could build a $1000 5.0 Mustang to go faster in a straight line than an SL65 as well...

And FWIW, an SRT-10, UGR or not, does not even come close to comparing to an SL65, so please save us this "faster for cheaper" bs...

I'll agree to disagree:

My 600 will eat all but the TT Vipers. My software and exhaust cost me $9800. How much is the turbo kit on the Viper?

Say bye bye to the supra if the 65 had Stage II... just computer alone will make the 65 a completely different animal... much more aggressive boost and mapping... espcially top end as well...

I think that 65 may have already been modded. Although they are fast and great roll on cars the fastest 65 trap ive seen is 130mph and thats a fully done up Renntech SL65, most stock 65's trap in the mid-low 120's. My car has as much power as a stock 65 and I trap 122's, you wont see me runnin down that many supras...the supra is just in a diferent league when it comes to the "roll on" race

The sl65 only has the speed governor removed. No other mods. The supra is making 580whp on pump gas in the video. It also has a race gas map making 765whp.

You sure about this info? Tell the SL65 to come to my track rental at MIR on April 3rd and we'll see how fast it is. Ken said the Supra wants to go too.

Nice numbers on pump gas, hence walking the Sl65 with no problems since most stock 65s seem to put down around 520-530 RWHP and weigh in at 4500+. Usually when the speed governer is removed in these cars its in conjunction with ECU tuning.

It's very fast, indeed, but unless people look for the tiny badging, and most people don't even know the difference, they'll pass you off as just another SL500, of which there are too many in Southern California.

Of course, if you buy it because you don't care about that, then you're one of the fastest on the road.
