I'm trying to decide on an 03 or 05 for my wife??? Are there any real world experinces with the g55? She is coming from an 03 range rover...what should I expect???

ive had a handful of G500's and G55's, including an 04 and 05 G55

what can you expect? I love the truck, its probably my favorite, but going with the 55, you can expect it to be a LOT louder than her RR inside and out, and definetely more sporty feeling, while having that boxy feel. If you go 05, the thing is a beast, and pulls very hard for its size, a lot harder than any RR out there. The 03-04 55's dont feel terribly faster to me than the 500's do, just better looking. I never had any real serious problems with mine, but they do have there little quirks, like any european car, but all in all, it is an extremely well built and strong SUV that will make its prescence known anywhere ya go

Go '05, someone on here posted about serious traction control/esp issues with the 03~04 models.

Went from a 02 G500 to a 05 G55, much more power, more powerful brakes, softer ride, the exhaust is throaty and rumbles, nice upgrade though.

 

G55 is a great truck, love the sound at WOT

Have to agree on the sound; it is just badass. I feel the RR has a nicer interior than the G. IMO, the G has much more road prescence than the RR. Expect a firmer/stiffer ride in the G55 vs the G500 or RR. Some people have even swapped out the G55 suspension in favor of the G500 suspension due to the harshness. Expect the gas mileage to suck..then again, I doubt the RR gets great mileage. Keep in mind, the G is a truck, and handles like one.
