Question Opinions from CL55 AMG owners please-- **I WANT ONE!!**

Hey Fellas-
I had a chance to go for a ride in a client's CL55 and I'm sprung! I NEED one of these things and before I go off half-cocked, I thought I'd check in with my trusted 6Speed brothers for some advice. I'd like to know:
- How good of a daily driver is this car? I put about 18-20k a year on my DD.
- What do you love about it
- What do you hate about it?
- Any 'must have' options that I can't live without?
- Is there a year that is more desirable that another?
- Are there any known service issues that I need to know about?
- What's a fair price given average miles?
- and last but nnot least, why do some of the cars have 'Kompressor' on the side and others dont? I am of the understanding that they are all V8 Supercharged motors, no?

Thanks in advance guys for the advice guys

CL55 are great cars and i see a few in my area daily...

The one thing i did notice was that some had wood-grain steering wheels and some dont?????? I dont know what thats all about, but if i was getting one, id want to be "wood grain grippin'" Might be some interior package options? Id look into it if i were you...

Good Luck!

A nice car for sure. Such a classy bodystyle. If I weren't still 19, I'd consider one.

The car is super fast, given it's typical 493hp engine.
Like said above, look for one 2003 or newer.
Based on a simple search in eBay, $55K seems to be a decent price for a clean 2003 with average miles.
It's possibly the fastest depreciating Mercedes out there. Not sure what the future holds for it's value, but it's tanked a lot so far. Maybe good for you?
GL! And please get BLACK OBSIDIAN!

Great daily driver. Make sure you buy one with an extended warranty. Or buy an extended warranty that covers the air suspension (ABC).

03 was the launch year. Better to stay away from those. Would make a great DD and can be modded easily for a lot more power. It's a heavy car like the SL55, but it feels a lot heavier than the SL55 in the turns.
Xeons are nice. Back massager is nice on long trips. Distronic is a pita and I never use it.
