sl65 modifications

How fast are the heavily modified sl65's. It seems as though renntech and kleeman's are running high 120's to low 130's?
Does anyone know what they do? Isnt stock boost 1.5bars already?
Also, what are the stock turbos? Do they use K series turbos?
Also, any tuning companies that really go all out? With a 6L displacement, I would think that with upgraded turbos, 1000rwhp+ would be easy.

Call me crazy but I expected more than 580/800 from a 6.5L TT V12 especially on 100 octane juice.

Sure seems like there is a major holdup somewhere in there, to the tune of about 200/200 on 100 octane easy.

And I have to give a resounding DUH to the tire spin theory. He's probably on some bling bling 20's that don't hook for chit to begin with. Pop the trunk and get a couple big boys to sit back there during the pull.

Not bad for a luxo sled though, and I bet it's a monster cruising the highway @ 150mph for hours on end. Part of me thinks the CL is cooler though. That car with some work would be like an LA to Vegas concord

the 580hp is due to wheels spin... if not easily 650+WHP and 900WTQ...

From what he stated it was only showing issues right around HP peak... if thats the case then max tq would not change as it's not going to ever make max tq and hp in the same rpm range.

So even if it's 650/800... it's still missing 150/200 IMO. 1.5bar of boost on 100 octane and only making 650rwhp is not all that impressive.

I know its got some power with mods and is fast. But, 3.6L TT's are pushing more power, mitsu evos are pushing more power, supra's are pushing more power. Is this due to the stock internals of the sl65's? I guess no one has gone all out and beefed up the internals and tuned it to 1000rwhp+? I mean with a 6L and factory TT, I was expecting more power tuned.

just FYI, the sl65 uses a 6.0L v12 TT, not 6.5.

And no one can beef up the tranny? Even vipers have auto's that hold 1500rwhp+.

Most of those ******s use 200/700R4's or TH400's... not exactly what you want in a $130k benz. But I'm sure with someone who understands a high performance automatic it would be possible to build something burly.

Or you could just swap that allison 5 spd auto from the chevy diesel in it.

I dont think those are "factory built" autos in those vipers. I dont know of anyone who has beefed up the auto yet, you also have the issue of half shafts breaking at these levels if using slicks, but I only know of one that this has happened to

If it's something you're interested in I can get you some half shafts that will hold 1500rw tq Swedge out the stock hubs to a bigger spline, couple little tricks, and it will tear the rear end out (which is a definite possability) before the shafts give up.

I don't think building the tranny is a problem as much as getting someone to do a custom run of cast sintered bands/clutches that will hold up. Considering there are maybe what, 100 people in the world who would be interested in such a thing.

Im not quite sure how much hp/trq Craig with the 996tt has but he has a beefed up tranny by 9ff. Last time I heard he was pushing around 1000hp/1000tq at the crank? Ive heard the TT tip is a similar tranny to the benz.

LOL, Bill as much as Id like to not only have the money to "rip" the car up lke that I wish I had mulitple cars to drive so I could have projects such as this. This is a lease and my daily driver...if I wanted that Id go back to my "roots" and get a Muxtang Fox body notchback hmmmm all aluminum block 408 and some twin turbos sound like fun but that will be a future project
