someone enlighten me please on the cost differences of gloss or matte finishes
A true Matte Black paint job takes significantly longer and is usually more expensive then a primered look or a gloss black.

Search for the thread regarding the Matte Black Lotus, he went into some detail regarding the process his had undergone.

Not feeling those wheels. He should've gone with black wheels as well.

This is the thread Jimbo is referring to:

The problem I have seen with a matte job is that you cant put the matte clear on the whole car at once. I love the look of the matte black tho.

Thanks for all the info guys, wow (read the Elise thread) never would imagined it would be that much.

The reason I asked is because my bro has a 70 Chevelle and it is primered (it a higher quality sealed primer) and when it was shot it had a decent shine to it, seen here:

But after several months has started to fade more and more seen here:

(^sorry for crappy cell pic^)

he is wanting to get it re shot with some kind of a satin/flatish PAINT to hold it over a few years before final paint so I thought of this but he wont go for that price hahah..

/end hijack of thread

- yeah paint looks good on the SLR, the wheels kill it though
