It does not BLOW COLD AIR. There are little fans that will actually just DRAW air through the seat, creating a cooling effect.

In no way, shape, or form does it actually blow cold air.

An easy way to tell, is when you have the option selected, put your ear to the seat cushion, and you can hear the fans running.

The only time I can feel a difference is when I get into the car really sweaty coming from the gym, then I can feel a slight cooling affect, but I agree they are far from stellar, and the above post about them drawing air is correct.

yep they suck air in. They look just like that fans that cool your computer attached to a seat w/o the seat back on.

I had a customer requesting to see what they looked like, and he wanted to know if he could get upgraded fans, or bring his own in

I notice them, they don't really cool your back as much as they prevent it from heating up. I wouldn't own a Mercedes without it now that I've had it.

The best cooled seats I've ever sat in are the a/c seats on the new Escalade. Those things will freeze your ***** to the seat if you let them. During hot & humid Chicago summer days they are a godsend.

Hey we're both in Chicago... maybe we find some crazy shop and perform a little "transplant surgery" - group buy? - I was actually considering a way to do that...

Seriously, if you felt those Escalade seats. I actually like cold and I honestly had to turn them down when it was 100F outside driving to Indy last summer. They get THAT cold.

If you think Escalade seats are cold, also sit in the Lincoln LS and the Infiniti G35-S.

I had them on my E-class and they worked to keep my lower back from sweating and I was happy for that. The ones on my 745 work marginally better. The best ones to date were on an LS460, I actually felt that they were cooling me. Very nice option for us here in the southwest.
