Amazon.com Product Description
Enjoy high-quality bang for your home theater buck with Harman Kardon's AVR 335 7.1-channel audio/video surround receiver. The receiver boasts Harman's latest features and technologies as it offers near-universal surround-format compatibility. Internally, it's engineered for impressive sonic performance, featuring a discrete-output amplifier pumping seven channels of high-current (+/-35 amps), ultrawide-bandwidth amplification--7 x 55 watts into 8 ohms, 20 to 20,000 Hz with less than 0.07 percent THD--in addition to state-of-the-art 192 kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converters and a high-power Cirrus 32-bit DSP processor.

Take a closer look at the AVR 335's connections. You can also view the unit's front panel and remote control in detail.
The AVR 335's wealth of cutting-edge technologies also includes triple-crossover bass management, automatic digital input polling, and A/V sync delay.

Surround sound features include Dolby Virtual Speaker, Dolby Headphone processing, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx processing (which provides an expansive, full-range 7.1-channel program from any stereo or 5.1-channel source). The receiver handles all other popular formats (including Dolby Digital EX and Dolby Digital 5.1), all standard DTS modes (including 6.1 DTS-ES Discrete, DTS-ES Matrix, DTS Neo:6, Cinema 6.1/5.1, and Music 6.1/5.1), and even the latest DTS 96/24 high-resolution audio technology. You also get Harman's proprietary Logic 7 audio for enhanced multichannel reproduction from both matrix-encoded and 2-channel recordings.

The receiver's many audio and video connections include wide-bandwidth, HDTV-compatible component-video inputs and multiroom/multisource operation with independent, simultaneous playback of two program sources, assignable back surround amplifier channels, and a zone-2 remote control.

Along with its extensive video connectivity, the receiver offers a array of digital and analog audio connections, including multiple coaxial and optical digital audio inputs and outputs. It sports both analog and digital front-panel inputs, 6-/8-channel direct audio inputs, and 7.1-channel preamp outputs to accommodate a DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD, or universal player. The AVR 335 is also among the first receivers to include EzSet/EQ, which provides automated system calibration and room equalization, which greatly simplifies installation while it improves system performance by tailoring the output of the receiver to your speakers, compensating for the effects of room acoustics.

The receiver's triple-crossover bass-management system lets you choose from multiple crossover frequencies for the front L/R, center, surround L/R, and surround back L/R speakers. Most receivers and DVD players have far more limited crossover filtering or none at all. Moreover, you can set different speaker-size configurations for different AVR 335 input sources according to your needs.

You get a high-quality FM/AM tuner with 30 station presets and a Listener Preference System that lets you specify a surround mode according to the program source. You can also set speaker-channel levels for each program source and DSP format (for example, the subwoofer level can be set differently for multichannel movie viewing and 2-channel CD music listening).

The soul of every Harman Kardon receiver is a high-current, ultrawide-bandwidth (10Hz-130kHz) amplifier for unwavering, distortion-free power. The AVR-335 contains this power just under its handsome black hood, effortlessly powering the most dynamic digital sources with 70W x 2 or 55W x 7 into 8 Ohms, 20Hz - 20kHz at <0.07% THD. Stereo and Home-Theater never had it so good! 4 A/V & 3 Audio inputs 6-Channel Surround inputs 6 Digital inputs (optical & coaxial) 3 Digital outputs Multiroom/Multisource audio

No, shipping is extra....I can split it if the sale is hassle free.

The unit is in perfect shape. If you are serious I can get some pics later.

Its a great receiver, I am just upgrading to a system that needs 100 watts per channel to power some major speakers.

I can include the speakers that came w/ this receiver for cheap.

Parametric Equalization Made Easy

If you're technologically-challenged, or simply can't wait to get your AVR335 A/V receiver up and running, then Harman Kardon's EzSet/EQ feature was developed especially for you. Using a standard, compact (2.25" high by 1.50" in diameter), high-precision microphone and built-in test and control circuitry with accuracy equaling expensive laboratory equipment, EzSet/EQ not only configures your system for the proper speaker settings, time delays, and crossover frequencies; but also uses a parametric equalizer to optimize the receiver's output performance to match your listening room's sonic signature. Parametric equalization differs from--and is more sophisicated than--traditional graphic equalization. Based on measurement and analysis of three sonic parameters--frequency, amplitude, and bandwidth--parametric equalization results in a superior set of adjustments to cancel out the sonically-damaging effects of a room's architecture and furnishings. Harman Kardon designs receivers to work with your individual listening environment, not against it.
Features Galore

Versatile and multifeatured, Harman Kardon's AVR335 7.1-Channel A/V Receiver incorporates a wide range of listening options to match your every need. In addition to Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES 6.1 decoding for digital sources, a broad choice of analog surround modes are available for use with sources such as CD, VCR, TV broadcasts, and the AVR335's own FM/AM tuner. Along with Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoding technology, the AVR335 offers Harman International's exclusive Logic 7 process to create a wider, more enveloping sound environment with more defined fly-overs and pans, where the surround sound transitions from the speakers on one side to the speakers on the other side. Another exclusive is VMAx, which uses proprietary processing to create an open, spacious sound field even when only two front speakers are available.
Future-Proof Connections

For the ultimate in flexibility, the AVR335 features two HDTV-compatible component video and five S-Video inputs for connecting video devices. There are four additional audio inputs; and with a total of seven video inputs, the AVR335 is capable of handling all the latest A/V sources. Coax and optical digital audio inputs/outputs are also available for direct connection to digital recorders. This bounty of connections, plus 6/8-channel direct audio inputs, makes the AVR335 virutally future-proof, with everything needed to accommodate tomorrow's new formats right on board. But because proven technologies are sometimes the best technologies, the AVR335's powerful amplifier uses the traditional Harman Kardon high-current (+/-35 amps), ultrawide bandwidth design.
Only Two Speakers--No Problem

Even though current marketing focuses increasingly on multichannel surround sound, there are still many situations where it's only possible to have two speakers in a room, sacrificing the benefits of 360-degree sonic presentation. Harman Kardon has solved that problem with its exclusive VMAx technology in both multichannel receivers and stereo receivers. Today's music and soundtracks are all recorded by multichannel and multimicrophone methods. Digital processing can create the illusion of multichannel sound from only two speakers. Using a series of complex calculations based on intensive research into the way we hear and process sounds, VMAx creates a three-dimensional sound field using only conventional left and right front speakers. With VMAx, you get sound that fills your room and puts you in the first row, center.
Making The Most Of Analog Matrix Soundtracks

When Harman Kardon engineers set out to enhance the playback of multichannel sound, they made significant improvements by building on recent advancements in digital technology. Logic 7 takes those advancements to the next level. Originally developed for high-end processors and currently featured in luxury automobiles, Logic 7 processing is now part of every Harman Kardon receiver. Proprietary digital algorithms are used to create a more cohesive and enveloping sound field from the tens of thousands of currently available analog matrix soundtracks. Not only is Logic 7 capable of resolving either five or seven channels from a two-channel source; but it also increases the accuracy with which sounds are directed to the center and surround channels, for more precise reproduction of the original soundtrack.
High-Horsepower Sound

Watts-per-channel is not the only measure of amplifier power; in terms of dynamic range and impact, current counts too. As an overall development approach, High-Current Capability encompasses everything from transformer design and capacitor size to discrete output circuitry, with minimal use of negative feedback. The AVR335's high current (+/-35 amp) amplifier is the electronic equivalent of a high-revving, high-horsepower racing engine that gives real benefits you can hear--tighter bass, superb transient response, and enhanced presence at any volume level. Put power behind your sound; choose Harman Kardon.
