Hi guys!

I just wanted to intorduce myself. I'm new to the pcar car world and I'm looking for a new home forum. I recently (few months ago) purchased a 996 c2 and I'm loving it so far.

I did hear about the proposed drive on saturday. Sucks that the forecast looks so crappy. I hope the weather behaves. I would love to meet some local porsche guys. So far, the reception has been a been chilly. No waves, no flashing lights, nothing from fellow porsche people on the road. The only people that have acknowledged me have been 993 drivers.

Anyway, here are a couple pictures of the baby and me less than 24 hours after I picked her up. I immediately dressed her up and took her out on a nice date

Hi Alicia, welcome! Nice ride you have there. I'm a new owner as well. You say you aren't getting waves from other owners? Are they BLIND?? I get some, but mostly get gawked at by 12 year old boys.

I've really been wanting to participate in one of these drives but haven't been able to square schedules so far.

Nice ride! I agree, it is a shame not many people flash or wave. Its pretty funny, there are three women I always see, all drive boxsters and they always flash or wave but two guys with the same style 911 as me won't even look!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I did eventually take the stickers off. They were on for a month or so though.

I swear...I do get the gawks from the teenagers but I get no love form other porsche people (993s excluded). 996/997 drivers keep eyes their forward. I can't seem to coax a glance, much less a wave or a blip of the lights. I'm happy to see people on the forum are far friendlier

I would love to do some of the local meets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for saturday.

Do any of you guys go to the local chapter's Porsche Club of America meetings?

yes I do actually. They are red upholstered, yellow/black carbon fiber weave, fixed back race seats and the sexiest thing one could ever hope to plop one's *** cheeks in.

The seats aren't in the 996 right now. I'm conflicted by the benefits of having heated seats for winter.

I love my Status seats.
