There is no denying, Van. You're a baller!

quote=gxlex;1622042]Minus the lights the LX570 got some pretty cool gadget especially the wide view front and side camera. The only problem that the dealership did was parking the Mercedes Gl550 next to it for comparison and I think that might cost them the sale. My wife now want the GL instead. The last time she pick out her own car was the RR and it turn out POS.

Anyone with experience with Mercedes GL?[/quote]

The LX470 never had HID Xenons. They had projector lights which lead a lot of people to think they were Xenons(HID) but they did not add this due to the height of the SUV to oncoming traffic and those they are in front of. It hits at eye level and would blind traffic and those that were in front of them. They did a lot of research on this and decided to go with a brighter NON HID Xenon Projector Light to give it a brighter output. The 08's will not have this feature either. I knew that was coming.

If I needed anything bigger than my Cayenne I would have taken his SUV in a heartbeat. It is bulletproof and very luxury. I am not a fan of the GL. I don't like the looks and I don't like it's reliability. My Cayenne is an 08 so we can reserve the comments for 03,04 and some 05's.

Strange, my wife's Escallade which is higher has HID's, my RR is about same height had Xenons.

I'm really liking the Cayenne GTS, but if I decide on the GTS, might as well get the Turbo.

I hear you on the idea behind that when other cars clearly have them at the same height level. It seems that most people who go with that brand aren't too concerned for the HID's since they manage to do a good job without them.

The GTS is more of a raw cayenne as compared to the Turbo. I guess that is the main reason why they made adjustable ride quality( PASM ) without AIR SUSPENSION and firmer springs and sways.

Also good luck on the Turbo. Are you doing to part?

The search for a new suv is over....out with the RR and in with GL550. Wife love her new ride and kids give it thumb up. I guess now it my turn to get a new car as well.

I don't know much about Mercedes but the CL63 AMG look really really nice.

I picked up my wife's new LX570 this week and I personally love the vehicle. Good luck with the Mercedes - you will at least make new friends, at the service department. My wife had a R500 and it was less than reliable. They finally got it running fine, but it took a lot of trips to the dealership.

The LX570 is a well polished ride. I like the simplicity of the vehicle, it is very user friendly vs. most imports. After 2 years, I still had no clue how to operate the R500. One time, I was driving down the interstate and put the R500 in reverse. Who puts a gear shift where the universally wipers belong?
