NCC BMWCCA Spring Drive April 25, 2009

PM for info and registration

To answer the member question, here is the answer from Bob Stern, the Spring/Summer Tourmeister:
Our NCCBMWCCA tours are open to all. Being a member has one special benefit.

The tours are subsidized by the club.

Any non-member (excluding special people coming with a member) wanting to attend must contact me @ MirNBob2@comcast.net. They will be required to pay the full cost for the tour. Joining NCCBMWCCA will be cheaper than paying the cost difference for two people.

If they want - they can use me as recommending them....member #317417.

Why don't you just post this on the Bimmer site... Making people go to another forum or club to sign up is total BS... Personally I have no interest in going to a BMW site and I'm sure there are others that feel the same...

Plain and simple - GO AWAY

Then don't go to the site. Don't sign up. The only way to register for the drives are throught the Club site. Get a life instead of trolling thread starting ish.
There are plenty of events posted on many boards for different clubs that ask you to go to their site to register.

Then go there and leave us alone... I don't drive a BMW, I have no desire to drive a BMW and therefore I have no need to go to a BMW site... Anyway take a hint and GO AWAY LOSER

Not the way I would have approached it, but before this turns into a train wreck....

6speed is for all enthusiasts. All posts, threads, GTG, etc. are all make and model oriented. If you are hosting a BMW specific club event, 6speed is probably not for you. I too am on e90post and Bimerforums as I also have a BMW. I would not come here to 6speed for any BMW specific GTGs or club events. I would go there. Every one thats on those site are on this site too. Posting a thread to go over there IF YOU HAVE A BMW, then what's the point? They, we, are already over there.

Scott, thanks for being an adult in your explanation. Our events are not BMW specific. Here is the PM this dude sent me asking about the Winter Drive we a few weeks ago:
"I'm in weather permitting... My R compound tires might not stick

I run routes for many clubs... This route happens to take place in my favorite area for tours... If you want to send me the route, I'll proof-read and send you recommendations if any... Are you doing the 2 tunnels?

Thanks,
Ken"

I told him he was more than welcome to join us. There was another 6speeder, 8speed, that inquired and he had an IS-F. I told him also he was welcome to attend. We had a VW and Acura join us. Gunther from 6speed contacted me also and he was told he was welcome to attend also.
We have had Porche owners join us on other Tours. They were members and a few non-members.
I am a PCA member, but I do not own a Porsche. In the OP it clearly states that the event is open to non-members also. The only issue is that the event is subsidized by the chapter, so non-members cost is slightly higher. As it is w/ track events. If you go to a track there are usually discounts for Club members (BMWCCA and PCA) and non-members pay more.
The main reason we need peopleto register for our events is so we can give the locations we visit a close head count and for insurance purposes.
Also see the post 10 here from the chapter VP openly stating the other makes are welcome: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/2210033-post10.html

Where the animosity from this dude is coming from is beyond me.

PS. I am looking forward to the cheesesteak run.

I went to the link in the first post before it was edited out. I don't pay to participate in runs/tours, I even wrankle at registering. But that is why I no longer join car clubs. I prefer the show (up) and go type of run/tour.

Guess I'm getting old and crotchety and just don't like events that are too structured.

Its cool. The cost is to cover your lunch. It does not go into anyone's or the Club's pocket. The amount is based on what the organizer is able to negotiate w/ the restaurant for a group.
