My GF just got it done here in MD, she was basically blind and now she is 20/20, I can give you more info if you want, but the doc is located in MD. He charges a 1 time flat rate and from there on everything is included (consultations, drops, even if you need a touch up surgery later on it will be for free) it was not a bad deal IMO

I got mine done in Maryland in July 2006 at lasikplus. Been great, I was tested after the surgery and had 20/15 vision which I've maintained. Best $3k I spent.

lasik

I did at Tysons eye center going on 7 yrs ago now. 37 yo now. Was horribly nearsighted before and better than 20/20 now. Best $$$ spent in my friggin life. Dont waste anymore time. Just do it. Youll drop $5k on a set of rims without too much thought but then you cant even see em from farther than 20 feet away. At 22, you are a good age candidate. If you dont have any weird *** stigmatism or anything, my guess is you'll get 25 yrs of perfect sight before having to go back for an adjustment. The first day or two after will freak you out a little as you cant see that great but I was probably back to 90% in 3-4 days and 100% in two weeks.

I had mine done about 8 years ago by a doctor in Reston, and the surgery was performed at the Lasik center. Damm can't remember his name - when I remember, I'll post back. Zero issues so far...and felt no pain or soreness the day after the surgery. A week later I was drove from Tampa to DC, only stopping for gas, without specs.....

for those of you who had this surgery done years ago, have you not noticed any regression of your vision? i've thought about this also.

everytime that i go to the eye doctor, though, my vision has changed and i need a stronger prescription. won't this continue to happen even after lasik?

No regression so to speak. However over the last couple years I've been working 14 hour days all while looking at a monitor. So lately I've been grabbing reading glasses when my eyes tire. I don't absolutely need them, but it helps.
