Car show in Maryland Sat. 11/21

Car show in Burtonsville, MD Sat. 11/21.

The location is the same as the Church of the Holy Donut cruise in that takes place every Sunday.

Weather looks good for a drive tomorrow, won't get too many more Saturdays like this for awhile.

It was a one-time car show, not weekly like the sunday meets.

Tonk,

Is this a spur of the moment type meet, or is it normally planned?

This particular meet was planned, but had minimal exposure on the internet, so attendance was far below what the sponsoring club expected.

Have to say, a couple of things went on that could make it tough for this club to have a show here again, and it could even effect the Holy Donut Sunday meets if anybody got pissed off.

As you might expect, there were the usual a holes burning out on the highway in front of the shopping center. One or two in the center parking lot itself. And a handfull of guys really whipping through the center parking lot, about a quarter of which was for the show, the rest for shoppers at Giant and other stores.

Finally the Cheeburger Cheeburger was the semi sponsor, and the DJ was set up in front of the restaurant. At one point starting playing songs with lyrics appropriate for a dance club, I suppose, but not for a public shopping center where families are shopping, going to restaurants, and the Blockbuster. That didn't set too well, either.

The site is where the Church of the Holy Donut car meet takes place every Sunday, even through the winter. A day like tomorrow, with weather to be chilly but clear, will get a very good turnout.

The Donut has cars starting to show around 8 am, everybody on the way home by 10:30 am or so.

Thanks for the response.

That's all you need is some ***-clowns to mess it up for the serious attendees.
