I started with Buell Blast.. LOL. its such a cheap bike (you can find one for $1500 or so), looks decent. and gone through 06 ZX6R, 04 Ducati Monster, now I am stuck with 08 Ducati 848 Superbike. Love this thing to death!! more than my Porsche for sure.
but as for the class, I took the class at HCC about 5 years ago, got my M license since than, which helped alot, not just safety but taking control of the bike, under certain conditions and so on. the best part was making figure 8 turns in a tight spot. I still can not do it with my own bike, probably I was careless about their bikes... LOL
Have fun, and be safe!

super duc
Auto Armour isn't just the premiere mid-atlantic clear-bra resource for autos... but bikes too... if it's finish is worth protecting it is worth taking it to the best. Full bike wrap here.
This is a rare beauty.... 1098R.... if I told you who owned it I'd have to kill you... or actually how it would go is they'd kill me.
This is like the almost Moto GP bike they surreptitously sneak into states as DOT approved by shipping along with assembled bike a to-be-owner-installed full system exhaust and race ECU. It weighs like 360 lb. and has over 170 wheel hp.... all you GT3 and LP560 owners go do the math.... this little $40,000+ scooter is damn near half whp per lb!! It'll put your nuts in your throat real quik.
Titanium valves, slipper clutch, traction control, Ohlins dampners and on and on. This bike is way beyond the realm of what any sane person would regard as streetable.... but I really don't think they had sane people in mind when they dreamt it up.
I have a Duc 748 I bought new in 2000 and within .5 yr. turned into an 853 and love it now, should have got the 996 in the first place but with the 748 to 853 conversion you get to keep the short stroke and quik revving while bumping displacement enuff to give you some ft. lb.s to play with out of the hole

This bike is for you if:
- You want the ultimate Ducati Superbike expression for the Street
- You can handle being reminded of your limited skills on a regular basis
- You already have a Desmosedici RR and you’ve got that kinda cash
- You have no self control (you’ll lose your license inside of month)
- Your reaction to the price is ‘How Much!!?’ (check out the 1198S for a lot of the experience at half the price)
- You don’t like red (buy the white Bayliss edition or the 2010 1198R Corse SE)

Bikes are great !
Just get good life insurance and practice some self-control. I see patients involved in motorcycle accidents about once a week while working nights in the ED/Trauma unit. Some are lucky and get away with a few broken bones or superficial wounds. Some have serious head trauma or even back injuries. That shouldn't deter you from doing what you want, but like some guys said "practice self control"
and watch out for those that don't see you (or are just stupid drivers that don't bother to look around them and cause most of the accidents on the roads)

Had a Yamaha FZR 600 back in the day. 600s are great first bikes. Most people I knew that had 500s got bored with them really quickly.
