ARE YOU CRAZY????

Don't own a bike because I'm too crazy, but do have a Motorcycle License. DEFINITELY take the class, you learn on 125cc bikes, but they are completely worth it. You learn a lot about bike safety, bike control and it's great to make mistakes on someone else's bikes. Took the course when I was living in NJ, but I see them occassionally in the parking lot of NVCC in Sterling and by Ikea in Woodbridge.

HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE MICK!!!

Berk as always thank you for your wisdom
A close friend of mine that I visited just picked up a CBR R-600 so he had a partial influence on me.

I have an 01 Gixxer 750. i don't ride too much on the street anymore. There are just too many drivers out there that don't pay attention. I do most of my fun riding on the track, it's much safer!

I will have to say that riding a bike has made me a much better driver in cars. I also recomend taking a class.

I'll second this. When you have to be in the mindset that everyone is out to hit you, you realize how much more of an aware driver you become. I had a bike in college but got rid of it. I miss having one, they're a lot of fun.

Also, I made a thread on L4P back in the spring about what types of things I should know when buying a sportbike, and got a TON of useful information. It's a great read if you've got the time.

I have a Ducati 1098 S Tricolore. I love it but I just dont have much time to ride it anymore. I used to do track days on my 999S which was one hell of a bike. That bike was so diled in. If I were you I would start there. I miss that bike so much! Dont buy a bike unless you are preapred to buy good quality protective gear. Dont go cheep on a helmet, boots, leathers and gloves or a spine protector. One carsh and they pay for themselves!

Start off with a Ninja 500- if you start off with even a 600 its too dangerous! those bikes are rockets- i was in the bike scene for a while and within 2 years saw at least 3 people i rode with pass away- needless to say, i'm done!
