UPDATE :

Hi Everyone...flyers are being made now and I should have something posted this afternoon. We are going to try mornings. I know the majority here have suggested lunch and can appreciate the reasons why. We'd like to try mornings first as the idea is that we would be there before other businesses open and that people can attend before family and weekend activities begin. If it doesnt take off in the morning, at least we will have a location established and can then look to try the lunch hour.

We are looking to have the "inaugural" meet next Saturday June 18th from 7:30-10:30.

I know there are some other shows / GTG's later that day. Hopefully being early will allow some to do both. Again, the idea is to get the ball rolling and the only way to do that is start !

Hope to see lots of you out there !

Ed, this could be an awesome event...but you're competing with Katie's at that time slot...it's gonna be tough. Katies pulls a huge crowd with incredible cars and has been doing this for several years and functions like a well oiled machine...it gets packed and fills out fast...and that event draws folks not only from VA but a ton from MD and surrounding areas...it even pulls dealer reps...insane the quality of cars you see there, but that sort of thing takes time and momentum to build that repeat customer/show base

If you start the tradition of a Maple Lawn Cars and luncheon event you will set a "First of it's Kind" precedent and own that market, you can even leverage the crowd from Katie's coming back toward MD...just a thought.

Best of Luck as always buddy...just wanted to offer some friendly advice...hope this helps

This would be perfect to hit before heading out to MFest. Since I am local, No need to hustle mega early to McLean before 7 just to get a decent space. I can do Sat morning the way I like and still make the show. Should be up there for a bit before I head out.

I appreciate the advice Sunir. Thanks as well to those who have contacted me off the board. I do understand the potential conflicts and trust me...I'm not a morning person ! But I think the best scenario for this location is if it works in the morning. However, if it doesnt, and I understand that's a possibility...we can revisit the options and try to make the best of it. I'll admit, I'm "flying by the seat of my pants" on this one, but I dont know of another way to start other than dive in. I expect it to take a little while to gain momentum...but hey, if we have an empty parking lot, we can always set up an autocross !

With Katie's 45 minutes away and this an hour and change, that's not much difference for me - after all my car was designed to cross CONTINENTS who cares about 15minutes...

And I might get a spot even if I get there past 7:30.

I think this is a good idea and will do pretty well.

The way I see it - it'll add a little mix to our Sat morning events, Katie's is great but I personally like options and the added bonus being the drive to and fro esp being in MD.

I'll try and make it out this Sat and Great Falls a lil break., no idea where Fulton is but that's part of the fun right....
