Crab Cake Run Anyone????

This thread is making me jealous! Having grown up in the NE, crab is still my favorite thing. It's sad that we are so close to the gulf coast here, but it's rare to find crabs available. A new Sichuan restaurant had Blue crab in spicy sauce for a while (unbelievably spicy and good, but overcooked sometimes), but it was off the menu last week. They had some live in a local supermarket a few years ago around the holidays, $2 a pound and the lady working the booth was scared of them, so she let me pick them out myself! Steamed with lots of old bay and cold beer, what could be better?
Evan - if you don't make it I'm sure some nice young chic is serving up crabs somewhere on campus....

Thanks for that suggestion. I prefer picking crab myself, have ordered them from the Crab Place a few times, pre-cooked and old bayed, but I may try ordering some live from them.

^^^ GTLaser will probably put a recap of the plans later in the week. I am thinking he will go to katies and round up a group, caraven to maple lawn and pick up a second group of us...then lead the way over to the restaurant where our crab cakes await us...
no idea about a drive afterwards....I suppose you could round up a group at lunch for those who may be interested...

I'm test running the Bull Run route to Summit Point early to make sure all the roads are good for Sunday. I plan to meet everyone at G&M for some excellent crab cakes.
